Beyond fear, destiny awaits. Watch the trailer for the highly anticipated #DuneMovie now.
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Ill wait for a pirated version I dont want to give PC Holloydid any money
I was done when they took the shotguns out of ET. ;)
I think reading the book was a prerequisite to enjoying it at all. You had to fill in a lot of gaps using what you read to make sense of some of the characters’ motivation.
I heard they are making a Top Gun II and...I aint watching.
I’ve read several of the books. I saw the David Lynch movie. I know the story of Dune pretty well.
This was, in my opinion, a very confused trailer. I can’t imagine too many average people seeing this and thinking, “That looks interesting”. Now, I’m not saying I didn’t recognize most of what was going on, but I think most people would just say WTF?
Looking forwards to this one.
"Mmmmm....Shi-oo-loooood....."
The 1984 movie was so bad, I'll let others take one for the team. I'll probably watch it from the comfort of my home theater eventually, but I suspect even if it's better than the 1984 version, it will be woke and misandrist. I've tried to rewatch the original a few times when I was up late, but am always reminded that it really was as bad as I remember...
That line was never in the book as I recall..............
Okay.
Right off the bat, I am out on that, pandering. Pandering. PC. Dammit.
I don't rag on anyone for wanting to see it, and not you...I wish I could get past that. I just grit my teeth over details like that.
I wish I could, but I will growl the entire movie. Eh. I hope it succeeds, maybe at some point I'll watch it down the road.
I enjoyed the miniseries, not the stupid movie with Sting.
Apparently they’re splitting it into two movies.

BTW, I didn’t realize until just now that the director is the same guy who did Blade Runner 2049, which I thought was very good bordering on excellent.
I agree—the trailer does not bode well for this movie.
There are so many outstanding SF stories that have not been made into film (that audiences would love!)—it just pains me to see them try this again...

Especially if it is two movies.
Spoiler alert!!!!
IIRC, Arrakis is actually earth, ten or more thousand years in the future.
Rendezvous with Rama
Would have to do the entire series or it would make sense..............
Good point. Does look exactly like that.
I'm still waiting for The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
After all that the Left has tried to do against Trump, the political angle would be appreciated today, I think.
There was even a link to a script that was posted here on FR a decade or so ago.
I just cannot stand it. I can’t stand it. The whole concept makes me grind my teeth.
Why can’t they just tell a story? Why? Why do they have to destroy every damned thing they touch, everything?
And it would be one thing if they were just putting out their stupid pap, because I could just avoid ingesting it.
But...like the true Orwellians they are, they have to go into the past and ban, destroy, expunge or change movies to make them fit their Leftist narrative today.
I offer “Gone With The Wind” and “Song of The South” as two examples.
I just cannot stand it.
hear! hear! I’ve been waiting for Hollywood to do Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonrider of Pern series after seeing what they could do using CGI in Avatar — guess I’ll have to wait as they do another remake of some unremarkable film.
“Father! The Sleeper is WOKE!”
No thanks. I’ll wait for the Netflix release or a free RedBox coupon.
Liet was one of my favorite characters in the book. His vision is what literally reshapes Arrakis.
Now, I liked that version of Blade Runner (2049). I don’t recall seeing any Leftist BS in there.
I love Dune. Just like I love Bond stuff. I just wish they could stop their ham-handed Leftist indoctrination.
