The Golden Girls is being revived with an all-black cast, which includes Regina King and Tracee Ellis Ross.
The iconic sitcom - which ran for seven season between 1985 and 1992 - revolved around the lives of four white women living together in Miami, but the new project will seek to 'reimagine' the situation from a black perspective.
Fans should not get too excited about the beloved program returning to the airwaves, however, as the revival appears to be a one-night special set to be broadcast over Zoom.

That was the plan even before Boseman died. Not kidding. One movie in and they were going to have him hand the mantle of the Black Panther to his annoying, racist sister Shuri. I’d say it’s a guarantee now.

Look at what happens to any white person who criticizes black culture. Look at what happens to any city where police kill a black person regardless of the facts.

They sort of did that in the ‘90s. There was a black family living in the old Bunker place and the conservative son was at odds with his lib dad. 704 Hauser. It lasted five episodes.

For example: Up is down, black is white, good is bad, bad is good, hot is cold, etc. etc.

I’ve also noticed the pattern of repeating the good shows and movies, but never trying to remake/revive the OK ones or the ones that had a failed delivery but could have been awesome.
It was right after gays became 35% of the country.
Ross is 47 and can pass for younger, WTF.
Did you see the New Odd Couple? Those were good actors.
Allot of the original GG chemistry was based on previous characters and role reversals they played in other shows. No way to repeat that.
Their Target Audience will be nothing of Any Consequence. But they’ll sure feel good trying to thrust this on the populace + I await the Very Public Cancelled Announcement when it ends!

Good actors doesn’t equal good show. They literally recycled scripts from the earlier sitcom. It was mercifully canned.
As for the Golden Black Girls, the show was supposed to be about elderly women. The youngest actresses cited aren’t even 50, yet. For the record, I can’t stand Tracee. She doesn’t hold a candle to her mother.
