Good actors doesn’t equal good show. They literally recycled scripts from the earlier sitcom. It was mercifully canned.

As for the Golden Black Girls, the show was supposed to be about elderly women. The youngest actresses cited aren’t even 50, yet. For the record, I can’t stand Tracee. She doesn’t hold a candle to her mother.

THREE of the four actresses playing the new "golden girls" are their 40s. Alfie Woodward (who is her 60s) is the only one in the appropriate age range to play some sassy woman in her retirement years. Notice the difference between the original and the new cast, none of the new "golden girls" have gray hair, while all of the originals did:
