Upping The Ante: Protesters Now Attempting To Stop High-Speed Freight Trains
The Babylon Bee ^ | Septemer 5, 2020 | The Babylon Bee

U.S.—Videos have emerged from across the country of protesters attempting to stop traffic, futilely pushing back against racist trucks and bigoted Hummers.

But, sadly, stopping traffic somehow hasn't ended racism. So rioters are being forced to turn to a new strategy: blocking train tracks to stop freight trains in the name of social justice.

"Turn around and go the other way!" shouted enraged protesters outside Portland as a freight train hurtled toward them at 60 miles per hour. The engineer, being a racist, refused, and continued to go right toward them, blowing his horn, which is apparently some kind of racist dog whistle. "If you care about justice at all, SHUT! THIS! TRAIN! DOWN!" they cried.

This is obviously satire, but I could see them trying to derail a train or two in order to stop rail traffic across the country.

Except they’d probably have to leave the city limits to really disrupt cross-country rail traffic...

I know this is the Babylon Bee (in case no one noticed) but the environmental activists have been doing that with slow-moving coal trains.

They call the train emergency number and tell them there's people on the track, but that didn't work back in December. Really wish the video was better. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/wxeqgw/these-climate-protesters-tried-to-stop-a-coal-train-in-its-tracks-it-almost-ran-them-down

Antifa already has. Two years ago, up near Tacoma, some Evergreen State students tried to use quick dry cement on the main north south line.

This is when I started considering, seriously, whether Democrats should absolutely be allowed to survive...

Pssst! Don’t tell the protesters, but I heard lying down on the tracks, side by side for 1/2 mile, would surely slow a train down. Don’t tell ‘em, okay?

We have had a couple of derailed trains in the past few months which were interesting.

Personally, after some conversation and certain efforts carried out by their local authorities, I suspect the recent Tempe, AZ derailment may well have been such a case.
