The Republican Party in North Carolina just announced on Fox News (Mike Emmanual) that checking online to see if your vote was recorded is possible.

The Democrat counterpart also said the voting process was safe and secure in North Carolina, but her head was shaking side to side saying NO at the same time she said it!

of course you’re not allowed to check anything... whether it was received and what that vote actually wss

there’s only one solution

a public blockchain based, biometric key accessed, voting system... printed receipts would be optional

this would allow only a single ballot issued to the blockchain for every registered voter in that district.

when a user requests their ballot, their biometric key (retainal pattern/ facial recognition data) would be sample and used to locate their ballot. once found, the ballot would be displayed available to be filled in. submitting the ballot would be placing a new link in the block chain, signed with the persons biokey

this voting scheme could be deployed anywhere in the world and only for living people.

ballots could only be cast in the assigned home district.

updates to the vote would be possible but only those updates prior to the cut-off would count towards the total.

real-time view of the status of an election would be possible.

verification of your vote would also be possible.

dead people could not vote.
multiple ballots would not be possible.
multi-state voting would not be possible.
multi-precinct voting would not be possible.
impersonation voting would not be possible.
vote changing would not be possible.

counted doesn’t mean counted accurately. as we know from NY Post Dem fraudster column, envelopes are opened and manipulated ballot replace the sent-in ballot. tha latter is counted then. it’s pretty clear the best way to go on record is in person. the new system in Cali reads and enters your choices before you leave the voting terminal

Most lazy people assume ‘the system’ works...until they invariably find out it does not.

NOV2020 is do or die for this country, but yeah, let’s rely on the system working.........

Some states don’t start processing the mailed in ballots until Election Day. And some won’t start counting until Election Day even if verified earlier. So Trump’s idea of ‘verifying’ your mail in vote counted by trying to vote at the polls won’t work everywhere.

You could in the “FR HQ” county (Fresno Co., CA)...was true for absentee mail in ballots in the past and now that CA is mandating mail out ballots for everyone they have established a statewide “Check your ballot” service:

https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/ballot-status/wheres-my-ballot/

Won’t affect the potential fraud of having millions of ballots floating around for “people” who have moved, etc.., but it will allow you to track the ballot (serial #) assigned to your name. Signatures are only checked if the ballot is “disputed” so ballot harvesting of “extra” mailed ballots should prove to be fruitful. :-(

Other Freepers are commenting on the mechanics of voting. I’d ask your consider the privacy of your vote.

The secret ballot is a fundamental principal of elections in the West. In person or absentee, how you voted is supposed to be known only to you so that you can, in theory, vote without fear of being intimidated into voting a certain way or of retribution afterward if you vote “wrong.” You mark your blank ballot in private and feed it into the recording machine yourself. There is nothing on the ballot that can be traced back to you. Ditto for the voting machines with the lever operated curtains. When you voted by throwing the lever and opening the closed curtains, all the selection switch settings were cleared. I haven’t voted absentee since I was in the service, but I seem to recall that the only place for identifying information and signatures was on the envelope the ballot was returned in. The ballot inside, once accepted as validly cast by the election officials, was extracted and had no markings on it to tie it back to a specific voter.

I write all this because there is an important distinction to be made in knowing if your mail-in ballot was received by the election board and knowing if your votes were tallied for the specific candidates you voted for. Being able to check on line if your ballot was received still preserves the secret nature of your ballot. Being able to check on line to ensure your votes were recorded negates the secrecy of your ballot because your specific votes can now be traced back directly to you. Worse yet, they are in a database that is accessible on-line.

How do you ensure your votes get counted? By insisting that the county Election Commission be led and staffed by very dedicated, scrupulously honest persons, be properly funded, equipped, and monitored by the competing political parties. There also must be constant scrutiny of election board performance and demands for accountably and prosecution when necessry.

Of course, since this is the organization where political power is actually awarded or lost, it is the perpetual target of a lot of corruption. I’m sure you’ve heard the stories about ballot boxes ending up at the bottom of Lake Michigan or the miracle reversals of elections when boxes of ballots suddenly show up - usually from inner city precincts - and completely change the vote count.

In closing, I’ll note that extremely high voter turn out (99+%) was/is a hallmark of communist nations. Voting is mandatory and to ensure accountability, every voter receives a serialized ballot and that serial number is recorded next to the voter’s name on the rolls. Needless to say, with that kind of traceability, voting produces very high levels of regime support (90+%). Those who vote “incorrectly” are easily identified so that they can be reeducated.

They could definitely confirm if they received your ballot since they can confirm receipt of any package from Amazon. In order to confirm that they have counted your ballot, though, would require some sort of code on the ballot that could be linked to you, personally, which would destroy utterly any semblance of a secret ballot.

It’s much easier to just go to your polling place and vote.

One of the oldest tricks in the book is for the Dems to check who has voted on election day and send in for last minute voting people who to be those who didn’t vote.

I bet they’d love your system!

Depends on your state, and perhaps which county within your state. In Michigan, I can check online to see if they received my ballot. If it is challenged, I can see that as well. The URL is in the instructions.

You can track the status of your absentee ballot in New Hampshire. Some other states provide a mechanism for doing that as well.

Check your own state's laws.
