The most unusual Triple Crown horse racing season in history will finally continue Saturday, Sept. 5 (7:01 p.m. ET post time, NBC) with the 2020 Kentucky Derby. The first jewel was postponed from the first Saturday in May, which now makes it the second jewel.
Tiz The Law, which cruised to victory at the Belmont Stakes on June 20 and followed that up with another big win at the Travers Stakes on Aug. 8, will be looking to keep his Triple Crown hopes alive and well ahead of the Preakness (Oct. 3), trading his home-state tracks in New York for Churchill Downs.
Which other horses are competing in "The Run for the Roses" and what should be expected to happen in the 1-1/4 mile race? Here's a complete breakdown of the field and expert predictions for the results of the coronavirus-delayed Kentucky Derby:

My Two dollars on Tiz the law. Because of the story I read on the owner here on FreeRepublic.
Honor A.P.
No fans in attendance and multiple protests groups reported to be outside the track. I pray nothing bad happens to anyone, equine or human. Haven’t dove into past performances for betting, but if I were just going off of names, I’d go with Honor A.P. The A.P in his name is of course referencing the great champion A.P. Indy, who died earlier this year at the very advanced age of 31.
Love the horses, love horse-racing, but they too have sold out. No fault of the horses, but the jockeys have knelt and the big corps running the tracks have been white-shaming us.
Screw them.
Trouble in Vegas -
Nevada bookmakers in dispute with Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby pari-mutuel wagering
Nevada bookmakers are locked in a dispute with Churchill Downs that, barring a last-minute resolution, will prevent the state’s sportsbooks from offering pari-mutuel wagering on the Kentucky Derby.
Is it true that ‘they” will pay tribute to “black victims of police brutality” (an homage to BLM)?
Horses don’t kneel. That’s all I got.
It’s being shown on NBC so it wouldn’t shock me in the slightest if they did. Tomorrow also marks 100 days of protests in Louisville KY.
Yes, but their owners do. And jockeys, and Stronach Corp, etc.
Heck, that’s why I’d usually be for or against a horse...connections. Sorry, but unlike most of the horsey set who are also PC, I NEVER cheer for any horse owned by that damn Sheikh!
Will the horses be wearing masks?
JohnKerry - 76-1
Haven’t seen anything about it. If yes, I’m out.
Black horse owners who support BLM to take part in Kentucky Derby
Two men who want to see justice for the family of Breonna Taylor have no plans to boycott or protest the Kentucky Derby, they plan to be in it. The owners of a Derby qualifying horse believe their participation in the race is important.

That sucks.
At least the horses don’t kneel....
Any odds on Manhattan Bartender?
Just checked my TV schedule app. Coverage starts at 2:30pm. Bleahh!
They’re not letting anyone in Church Hill Downs...and no one here in Louisville is even talking about the Derby. I actually forgot about it. Screw ‘em. Besides bow season just started...who needs the Derby?
No fans in attendance this year. Might see that from the protesters that have stated they’re showing up anyway.
WORST DERBY EVER!
No one care... and, only one horse has any chance of winning.
Not sure I’ll even watch.
What a change from last year. We were in the brand new “Starting Line Suites”. It was phenomenal, and I won a bundle on Country Home, or House, or Heart. I don’t remember the dogs name. But, I do recall he was 65-1! :-)
