One of my best memories is shadowing an autistic boy at school from kindergarten through third grade. He wasn’t a problem it was the teachers I had to deal with. Totally disrespectful and closed minded. I wouldn’t trust any teacher to be in change of your sweet grandson. He must have someone who is open to different ways of learning techniques. Not one teacher didn’t give me a hard time because I insisted on doing things different than how they were teaching. Control..control..control freaks.
I happen to see Michael 10 years later and he stepped on his porch(happen to move next door to my BIL)and say,”Don’t I know you? Your Mrs.....”
I’ll never forget that moment.
Probably because anymore it’s a constant presence, like a pressure on our shoulders. And we know it’s always there so we get used to it.
Good teachers have a special place in Heaven and in their students’ hearts.
Got a few of my own...still don’t know how they put up with such a smarta$$.
And we helped Japan so much that they took over the world steel industry. And put US steel out of business. Well it wasn’t just them, it was the unions as well. I had a metallurgical engineering Professor talk about how the regular workers made more than the engineers. I wonder if the engineering professors are still conservative.....

A teacher told me it wasn’t my job to help this third grader clean out his desk and organize his papers. (another special ed boy) He was old enough to do it himself.
She wanted nothing to do with my trying to explain the boys situation. I had to sneak peanut butter crackers to him because his mother had another man sleeping in their apartment and they were arguing through the night. He was trying to sleep on the couch.
