When Daisy the bulldog showed up at the doorsteps of a North Central Fire Protection District Station 58 in Fresno, California in late April, she was extremely dehydrated and skinny.
The bulldog camped out at the back of the station for about a week, sleeping on the doormat that leads right into the fire station. Although suffering from poor health, the dog made sure to greet the firefighters as they left for their calls.
Eventually, the firefighters realized they had to help their new friend find a home... but it became difficult to find the dog a permanent home with all the medical issues she faced. Thats when her journey led her to The Wagmor Hotel and Pet Spa in Los Angeles for adoption.
After nursing her back to health, the agency started to post photos of the pooch to its Instagram page to find her a home. Daisy, a true underdog, was not getting as much interest as expected. She had many fans, but no one wanted to adopt her.
Finally, a potential owner reached out Miley Cyrus. The singer had adopted dogs from the agency before.
The star asked to keep the dog for a weekend. A weekend turned into a week, and soon a month. Within this time, Cyrus, a dog lover and advocate, helped improve Daisys health. She took the dog to a couple specialists, changed her diet and medications and continued to reach out to several family and friends searching for a permanent home.
However, Cyrus realized the loveable bulldog had already found a home. It was with her. The singer adopted Daisy in early August...

To think, being abandoned was the best thing to happen to that dog. It was all down hill from there.
He peaked early.
Mutt gets adopted by a dog. Poor mutt.
It depends. Some adopt them for a photto op then who knows what after. Maybe others are more caring. Hope it gets a chance. My firehouse would have adopted it.
Miley may be a loon, but she did something good here. And by the looks of the second photo, it appears the dog has bonded with her.
you’ll never find a sweeter dog than a Bulldog. We had them years ago......beware, they’re not called the lazy mans dog for nothing. They don’t do overexertion very well......;)
My firehouse had urns from dogs from way back.
Maybe they’re good for each other.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
Ya know, all you clowns mocking this; at least the dog has SOMEONE in its life that can take care of it. While I consider it likely that the young lady in question had ulterior motives, this from first look is a good thing. Makes me sick that people can just dump a dog off when it doesnt fit their life any more. Condemnation of said woman shall be held in reserve.
She’ll do anything for attention.
She got divorced. She’s probably twerking him.
Is it a male or female bull dog?
Yeah, it's a damn shame someone took the time, effort, and money to (a) get a dog's health back, (b) attempt to find someone to adopt the dog, and (c) fall in love with the dog enough to want to keep it.
I am no fan of Miley, but I would give her a pass for this. Even if the net result ends up being she finds another home for the dog down the line, she may well have saved the dog's life.

Our dog is a Staffy/bulldog mix; he is a rescue from Chicago’s Southside. He is sweet as can be. But, lazy? Lazy is too weak a word to describe him. Between being lazy and stubborn, he doesn’t get much done. On walks he’s gangbusters for the first five minutes or so, then PLOP! He’s on his belly, with that look that says “You don’t really expect me to get up and keep going, do you?” That’s a bit of hyperbole, but not by much!
It’s her proverbial “one good thing.”
May the dog thrive.
I’m going to assume “Daisy” is a female dog.
She earns a lot of bad press, this time she did a good thing.
Hey Pooch, keep a look look out for that Wrecking Ball. No it’s not outside it resides in the Master bedroom.
