The Big Ten is discussing Thanksgiving weekend as one of several options to start its football season, sources told ESPN.
An early January start with an eight- or nine-game schedule at indoor venues has generated the most discussion so far, but pushing the season kickoff to around Thanksgiving also is under consideration.

All political. After the election. Biden has a political ad out blaming the shutdown of football on Trump. The Big 10 Commissioner hates Trump and wants him defeated.
Remember the Big 10 is also an academic alliance of universities. Conference decisions are made by the university presidents, not the athletic directors or coaches. Given that, political bias comes into play. Anyway no Big 10 football (and Pac 12) will improve the quality of big time college football by subtraction. Does anybody want to see Rutgers, Illinois, Cal or Oregon St play football? Even the mighty THE is only relevant about every five years, and I say that as a Buckeye fan.
Thanksgiving weekend...
Perfect timing for the first national outbreak of seasonal influenza!
Many high schools in Ohio played football last night and tonight, but Ohio State cant play? Makes no sense to me. Theres a rally taking place in Columbus today against the shutdown, led by parents of the players.
Gestapo Gretchen wont allow it. Ohio State was leading the effort to try to salvage some kind of Fall season but Fuehrer Whitmer is dead set against it and will not allow Michigan or Michigan State to play and the Big 10 is hosed without them. She has bragged about getting the Big 10 season shut down.
Thats why Trump calling for the Big 10 to play this Fall was a master stroke in last nights speech. The fans in several key swing states are going to be nuclear pissed when they watch the Big 12, SEC and ACC playing....not to mention high schools and pro teams and even colleges in their own states (Iowa State, Cincy, Pitt) while they are not allowed to. This could very easily have a big political impact in those states.
I bet you this backfired on them in spectacular fashion.
Huge egg on face of Big 10. They thought they’d be the “leaders” of protecting the poor football teams by pulling the plug first with all other conferences to follow...but oh, wait, sorry. COVID=POLITICS
You’re welcome for the article. Warren & the B1G presidents are in collusion in an effort to sow chaos. Beyond playing football, the economic impact to these college towns is devastating.
Maybe when they start fairly recruiting white kids I’ll care.
Do half of the jocks have a gpa above 1.9? I am not calling them stupid and easily duped and easy to brainwash but yeah I am.
Why not the weekend after the election?
Probably not. D1 football has become a tool for race quotas. Whites need not even think about getting recruited for most positions except offensive line where they can be used to make “superior” black athletes look good.
Fishing, hunting, card playing etc are free.
Can't win on ideas, blood thirst to regain power, feel threatened having your gravy train of greed/corruption being exposed by an "outsider"...?
...I know, let's destroy Trumps economy/Presidency...consequences to anyone else be damned!
...you know that would be the MSM/dem narrative had all this happened to a dem President in a re-election year.
Action=Reaction
Brexit/Trump=Pandemic/social chaos.
...our side plays too nice, this is WAR!
Need to stop just playing defense all the time with these cretins and their Alinsky rules/methods, why not start throwing our own sh t-bombs out there...never know what might stick.

Perfect timing for the first national outbreak of seasonal influenza!
The good news is Influenza will have been completely irradiated. Unfortunately Covid cases will multiply by remarkably similar numbers. LOL
Why not the weekend after the election?
My worry is the Big 10 will agree to play in early November and get the SEC/ACC to postpone until then so we have a somewhat normal season.
The crazy thing is Austin Peay and Central Arkansas are playing REAL college football TODAY at 9pm on ESPN, a real college football game involving real teams keeping score and one team will win and one will lose...
If Austin Peay and Central Arkansas can figure out how to play safely, surely teams in the Big Ten could figure it out....
