Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he would debate President Donald Trump despite House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) urging him not to do so.
When asked about Pelosi’s plea, Biden said, “No. I am - as long as the commission continues down the street narrow as they have, I will debate him. I know for certain I will try - I will be a fact-checker on the floor while I am debating him.”
He added, “But, look, one thing that has gone on so far is the vast majority with notable exceptions of the news media have been fact-checking the things said during the convention."

The commission? Is that what he calls his decision makers? It’s nice he’s admitted it outright.

Huh? Translation?
I interpret that as meaning as long as the debate commission gives Biden everything he wants (stack the deck against Trump with only favored rabid leftist "moderators"), then he, Biden, will be there.
If they don't, he will use the same old weasel excuse Dems have always used: "we couldn't agree on a format so we're out."
If they try to do the debate virtually, rather than in-person, on-stage, Trump needs to have people at Biden’s location to make sure he isn’t being fed the answers.

If they debate virtually, POTUS should do it from a huge rally...in a swing state
The networks are trying to figure out how they can best help biden during the debate and trash Trump. It will not be a fair debate. biden will have all the networks helping him every minute of the way.
Agreed, but there's no need to debate virtually. They can be on a stage, outside, ten feet apart, with plexiglass between them and fifteen feet away from the audience and moderator. Much safer than the biden rallies going on in Kenosha and Portland.
What does he mean by 'street narrow'? Is he confusing 'the straight and narrow path'?
Absolutely, however POTUS may have to go along with their CHIYna virus charade
Ways they will do so:
1) Find a lefty moderator that will toss softballs to slo joe and attack the President.
2) Lefty moderator will "fact check" the President, interrupting his responses constantly and will give slo joe hints and even answer positively for slo joe.
3) Hidey will be given all the questions in advance and the answers written for him.
4) gropey will have an earpiece with handlers telling him which numbered answer to read.
5) If there is an audience, it will be comprised of hard core lefties only.
6) The usual shenanigans with podium height, camera angles, lighting, microphone levels.
7) Network "anal-ists" back in the studio covering the debate live, will talk over the President.
8) Post-debate analysis will be the usual dem good, orange man bad.
