Apparently there is a blood plasma treatment that involves taking antibody rich blood plasma from recovered CV patients and putting it in sick patients. Trump authorizes it’s use as of tonight, I believe. Since Trump authorizes it you can be sure that the media will give it the same treatment that it gave hydroxychloriquine. They will repeatedly say how dangerous it is no matter how safe it is. Blood transfusions and blood plasma don’t sound dangerous to me. People get them all the time. That idiot on CNN, Joe Scarborough will probably have the best hyperbole in describing this treatment’s dangers.
I really don’t care that much about treatments as I think healthy living saves many more lives than treatments. But I think some GOP politicians need some sort of treatment/placebo so that they can calm the panicky fearmoms and relax the lockdown. The Dems will just pick up on the media lies about the dangers of CV.
Calm yourself...ALL generalizations have exceptions to the rule. However; a look at any Cracker Barrel early Sunday afternoon (pre-COVID, LOL!) tells the tale. There are PLENTY of people out there whose obesity puts them at risk, and most are not comfortable with the concept of exercise. There ARE exceptions, of which you are one.

It is a very old and effective treatment/preventive for a lot of things. I read that it was often given to healthcare workers going to treat disease outbreaks in Third World countries because it is easy to obtain and create for the specific illness they were going to treat. It doesn’t appear to have side effects, and I think the only question is how long the immunity lasts...probably not as long as a vaccination, although even those often have to be repeated.
Trump and some doctors mentioned it at the very start of this, but I guess Fauci thought that it wouldn’t give him the total control he wanted. IIRC, he scoffed at it because it was “old fashioned.” Of course, it also wouldn’t have meant an investment of billions of dollars in chasing phantom vaccines and the complete destruction of our society.
I know this thing I posted yesterday is simplistic, but I gave it to the (low i.q.) mask worshiper at the community center last week. It started her thinking. It’s mostly a collection of posts on FR.

Why do you need to have an 8-inch Q-tip stuck way up your nose for Covid testing?
Why can’t you test by breathing on a microscope slide if you could contaminate and infect others within 6 feet?

I bought a rowing machine a while ago, it’s easier on my feet due to less impact and a decent seat.
A young man I know (mid to later 20’s) was in a Pittsburgh ICU from Covid. Not so bad that he couldn’t post on social media everyday. But he was given the “experimental” antibody serum and was better in days.

How is this convalescent treatment different from how George Washington inoculated his troops for smallpox using pus from infected troops?

Plasma treatment provides COVID antibodies to the patient, not live virus.
