Beer could taste different because of climate change, scientist says

For years, an increasing number of scientists have warned about the side effects of climate change like rising oceans and unpredictable changes in weather patterns.

But this may be the most serious repercussion of climate change identified to date: Beer may taste different.

That's according to the research of Colleen Doherty, an associate professor of molecular and structural biochemistry at N.C. State University.

Doherty studies the connections between time and stress in plants, according to the university. In a recent post on the university's website, she explained how changing temperatures will affect hops and other beer ingredients.

Growers have cultivated different varieties of hops that produce different chemical compounds in order to provide distinctive flavors in beers.

For decades the 'experts' have been lying to us about the existential threat of man-made climate change.

Now, apparently since no one is paying them heed anymore they've decided to lie about the stuff that we really hold dear.

Leave my beer alone! 🍺🍺

Different good, or different bad? Either way I’m ready to do my part to save my fellow citizens from different-tasting beer. You’re welcome.

Drink beer everyday and you’ll never notice the change.

I'm going to take your suggestion and track/record my results in the name of science.

I’ll be the judge of that. Meanwhile pour me a cold one. I want to start taking notes and comparing the taste of different brands.

I’ve noticed it tastes different than it did during the early Mesopotamian period. So there may be something to that. But then, I was a lot younger.

So, tell us what it was like dating Ruth Bader Ginsberg back in those Mosopotamian Period days?

I know things were hotter in those days...was she?
