This year could end with a bang.
Scientists recently spotted an asteroid on a direct collision course to Earth projected to hit a day before the presidential elections in November.
The flying space object, known as 2018VP1, is expected on Nov. 2, according to the Center for Near Objects Studies at NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
The asteroid is 6.5 feet in diameter, according to NASA data, and first identified at the Palomar Observatory in California two years ago.
The space agency says there could be three potential impacts based on 21 observations spanning 12.968 days, with the chance of a direct impact less than 1%.

Slow day when we are talkin about six foot meteors :-) not exactly Armageddon :-)
I can think of some people on the left I’d like it to fall on though
2 meters in diameter wont get thru the atmosphere.
“Hey honey, world is going to end, it may be our last chance. We better make it count!!!”
Oh, it’s just a distraction.
Hollywood, or Washington DC?
Zero is less than 1%
2018VP1 is the scout, the swarm will follow, and then the main event ...
I knew this would happen when they started to campaign to let aliens vote.
I want to know more.
I want a 2020 redo.
depending on its composition, it may or may not hit the surface
personally, i’m actually a bit encouraged. if real, then they spotted an incoming meteor that’s only 6.5’ in diameter 3+ months before its projected impact
Is this the first time they predicted wed get hit?
A one-in-240 chance of hitting the earth. Even if it does its so small at worst is will be a bolide (fireball) over the Pacific. No one may even see it, if it even hits. Estimated trajectory takes it over 400,000 km (240,000 miles) from earth, further than the moon.
6 feet? I have televisions bigger than that. Send it.
The asteroid is called Trump and will send Democrats the way of the Dinosaur.
I got this. I have an oversized catchers mitt. Just like a can of corn. .
I got this. I have an oversized catchers mitt. Just like a can of corn. .
There is a .000001% chance it will land on my house. We’re all good here.
