MACKINAC BRIDGE, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — The Coast Guard and Michigan State Police are asking the public for any information to help identify a private aircraft that flew underneath the Mackinac Bridge during a busy travel weekend.

Specifically, detectives are looking for clear photos, video, or other information that might help them identify the aircraft.

"This was extremely reckless behavior on the part of the pilot, and it imperiled the safety of everyone on the bridge that day,” State Police Detective Sgt. Gary Demers said. “We hope that someone can come forward with information to help us make sure it doesn't happen again."

So easy. Just hit "Enhance" while playing the video.

Do I have to do everything?

Charles Lindbergh flew under the Vt. NY Lake Champlain Bridge
80 years ago. He was a model for
generations of future fliers.

Whatever happened with that? Did Ford’s latest anti-Trump rant absolve him from penalties?

I’ve travelled under that bridge, trust me, there’s plenty of room for a small plane to go through. Cops up that way don’t have much else to do than investigate some stuntman.

I have known several young pilots (civilian) and they all hope to get away with a stunt like this at some time or another. The military ones won’t...............tell you.....

Had this been a real muslim terrorist, there would not be a ‘dry run’.......

What law was broken?

FAR 91.119

Common sense not to endanger other people's lives. I know you can execute the maneuver flawlessly. It's all those others who screw it up for guys like you.

It is 155’ off the water. I suspect it is a rights of passage for most pilots.

B-47 was the first under the MAC Bridge.

From Wikipedia:

“On 24 April 1959, Captain John S. Lappo, operating from Lockbourne AFB flew a B-47 with two crewmen on board under the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan. Following a general court-martial, he was grounded for life.”
