Postal Service warns 46 states their voters could be disenfranchised by delayed mail-in ballots
Washington Post (democracy dies with democrats) via Seattle Times ^ | 8/14/20 | Christopher Ingraham, Elise Viebeck, Erin Cox, Jacob Bogage

Anticipating an avalanche of absentee ballots, the U.S. Postal Service recently sent detailed letters to 46 states and the District of Columbia warning that it cannot guarantee all ballots cast by mail for the November election will arrive in time to be counted - adding another layer of uncertainty ahead of the high-stakes presidential contest.

Washington state was not among them.

The letters sketch a grim possibility for the tens of millions of Americans eligible for a mail-in ballot this fall: Even if people follow all of their state’s election rules, the pace of Postal Service delivery may disqualify their votes.

The Postal Service’s warnings of potential disenfranchisement came as the agency undergoes a sweeping organizational and policy overhaul amid dire financial conditions. Cost-cutting moves have already delayed mail delivery by as much as a week in some places, and a new decision to decommission 10 percent of the Postal Service’s sorting machines sparked widespread concern the slowdowns will only worsen. Rank-and-file postal workers say the move is ill-timed and could sharply diminish the speedy processing of flat mail, including letters and ballots.

The ballot warnings, issued at the end of July from Thomas J. Marshall, general counsel and executive vice president of the Postal Service, and obtained through a records request by The Washington Post, were planned before the appointment of Louis DeJoy, a former logistics executive and ally of President Trump, as postmaster general in early summer. They go beyond the traditional coordination between the Postal Service and election officials, drafted as fears surrounding the coronavirus pandemic triggered an unprecedented and sudden shift to mail-in voting.

Nothing to worry about, the Postal workers union has endorsed Senile Joe and promises to deliver enough ballots to elect him.

If people can riot and protest, we can vote in person.

IF the ballots are not there on ELECTION DAY,......tough. They’re NOT counted.
Everyone knows when election day is and where to vote.

BULL CRAP! The Postal Service processes 19.7 MILLION mail pieces EACH HOUR. They will have no problem handling mail ballots now. Don’t give them their 25 Billion Dollar bailout they’re demanding as blackmail.

Everyone knows when election day is and where to vote.

It will depend on how the Supreme Court votes.

Isn't that comforting?

People could also just go to the polling location and vote

Apparently the polling locations are being “consolidated” and they will be few and far between? To “encourage” vote by mail.

No matter. I will drive hours and get in line at 8 am to wait all day to vote for Donald Trump. If I vote for Trump by mail, in CA, my vote will be tossed in the SF Bay. (Floating boxes of ballots have been found there after elections).

EVEN WORSE

NOTE——The Presidential Succession Act provides for promoting the Speaker of the House to President if no election results by January 1.

ACTION NOW-—Clearly, Democrats’ obsession for mail-in voting is certain to achieve their goal-—chaos on election day——and elevating Nancy Pelsi as president.

That is why we demand a law be passed that bans Pelosi b/c she is connected to foreign agents......ANYTHING.....we must throw a monkey wrench into the Dems plans.

These policy shifts have brought the number of Americans who are eligible to cast mail or absentee ballots in the general election to a historic high of nearly 180 million, roughly 97 million of whom will automatically receive an absentee ballot or an absentee ballot request form in the mail,

The PG is not allowing excessive (massive) overtime to which the Postal Union is retaliating on.

There will probably be a fair share of feet-dragging by disgruntled workers.

With almost 100 million ballots just floating around the fraud will be uncontrollable.

The prog will blame Trump saying it was all intentional and the mountains of ballots must be counted and allowed.

They will also be wailing and moaning about "the popular vote" which in 2016 was fueled by illegal aliens voting.

The progs will be screaming impeachment while all the communist media will chanting "biden won, biden won."

At that point 10 U.S.C. §§ 251–255; prior to 2016, 10 U.S.C. §§ 331–335; amended 2006, 2007 might be the only way to preserve the Republic.

"IF the ballots are not there on ELECTION DAY,......tough. They’re NOT counted."

Unfortunately, there are Judges who will order that they will be counted. It just happened with the New York State primary:

Judge orders New York state to count previously invalidated mail-in ballots

“...Unfortunately, there are Judges who will order that they will be counted. It just happened with the New York State primary:..”

There’s a big difference in an legitimate absentee ballot and some non-traceable nefarious mail-in ballot. The later should not even be considered.

Yeah, but the problem is Secretaries of State and Election Commissions are reducing the number of polling places and causing long lines. That’s what happened in 2016 and 2018 in Arizona and other states, and it’s just gonna get worse.

And now they’re removing sorting machines and mailboxes ?

If the Postmaster General delays the mail, states are going to have to have more polling sites to make up for it.

The Post office could not deliver all the ballots if we had mail in voting no matter what.

Remember Newman on “Seinfeld”, said in a episode they were luck they delivered 65% on time anything more than that never happens and I believe that today. probably worse.

I can’t imagine its that expensive to pay a bunch of old ladies to run a polling stations once every two years compared to mailing out a self addressed stamped envelope to everyone in a state.

How many people are going to show up on election day only to be told they can’t vote because they were sent a mail-in ballot?
