One thing that was discussed yesterday was the motivation behind the lockdown. Some of the motivators behind it are: 1. Desire to control others, 2. Politicians needing to appear to be doing something, and 3. Big pharma trying to stop herd immunity because they want to sell vaccines. This is all fueled by media fear porn. It is amazing the degree to which a population can go off the rails with idiotic policies as we have done with Covid lockdowns. Reagan said every generation would need to fight for its freedom - we are having our fight now.

T-cell immunity seems to be a key in fighting CV. Old people have fewer T cells and this is one theory why they are so vulnerable. Hoping to learn more about boosting t-cell immunity - not particularly for Corona but for all viruses in general.

I think you have accurately identified this fight. The masks are merely a symbol, a very apt one, of the stifling of our liberties and rights. The fact that government was able to take away our livelihoods, our communities, separate us from our families and even prevent our exercise of religion, all in one fell swoop, with virtually no objection from anyone, still stuns me. Who would have thought it could happen so fast? I’m sure even the governments were amazed at how easy it was.
And now they’re just consolidating their win with these ever increasing mask orders, the renewed shutdown of places where people might gather outside of government supervision (bars and late night restaurants, for example) and overt attacks on church gatherings.
What they realize - as did the Founders, even deists like Jefferson - Is that the greatest threat to the state is religious faith, because it tells human beings that they are something more than mere units of the state and that they have duties to a moral force that is beyond and superior to that of the state.
Reagan was right and your post was right, we have to fight for our freedom and this is the fight for our time.
So my crazy hope out of all of this is that we end up with a cure for the corona-virus triggered common cold. :)

My prayer for decades has been or the progs to expose themselves for the totalitarians they are. It has been answered. It is uncomfortable. The more uncomfortable it becomes the more people question and the more who question, the more freedom we have in the aggregate.
Refuse the mask.
If you stay stocked up on essentials,now is the time to learn how to stretch those resources. This allows you to avoid the corporate collaborators.
On the same note, if you need something and just don’t want to trek out store-to-store, hoping something is in stock and you don’t want to patronize Walmart/Amazon if at all possible, search for independent venues on line or locally and purchase from them. You will pay shipping if under a minimum, but you will spread the economic activity beyond the collaborators.
Daughter of a friend in a hot spot Blue Enclave is making good income with DoorDash and InstaCart. She is picky about which orders she takes. Tips are good.
Spend the time doing/learning whatever will make you more self-sufficient. It beats the depression. So does getting out wherever possible to places that defy the orders. A few hours with happy people living their lives is a great anti-depressant. Church, if you have one. Our local R party is having movie nights. Our sheriff is not policing mask orders. We have found a couple of restaurants/bars that do not require masks and they are full.
From what I can tell, exclusive areas of Blue Enclaves are starting to feel the pain. That is going to flip more people against the progs.
Fight as you can and from wherever you are. With God, all things are possible.

From what I”ve observed over my lifetime, most people are chicken-poops about actually DOING anything about stuff like that . . . but I’d be willing to bet that mindset would change when they have absolutely NOTHING left to lose. People who reach that awful point no longer care about public opinion, society’s “rules”, potential physical injury, or even life and death.
But at least that town up there already had a mandate in place, rather than scheduling one a month in advance like Edmond has done.

Regardless, even IF the number of deaths is correct, it doesn’t mean that COVID is more deadly, contagious, or different from any other illness. It is an established fact that the vast majority of people who have died of COVID (or often, simply WITH COVID), are on average 80 years old, and in something like 85% of cases, had one or more underlying conditions.
The media and the left are breathlessly reporting every COVID death, which causes everyone to think this is some biblical plague. It isn’t. They could apparently convince a large percentage of the population that no one should ever get into a car, if they hyped the deaths from car accidents the way they do COVID. The difference is that car accidents kill people of ALL ages, whereas COVID almost exclusively kills unhealthy people who, in most cases, are already beyond average life expectancy.
Get a grip. You are being manipulated, and you are seeing our society, economy, and lives being destroyed by people with an agenda who do not care one bit about you.
”15 days to the flatten the curve” in March has become mask mandates and idiotic “social distancing” mandates, indefinitely. It is absolute madness. There is no “science” behind it, only fear and propaganda.

And let me add, the whole point of the lockdowns, the masks, and the “social distancing” (I can’t begin to tell you how much I loathe that phrase), was to prevent our hospitals and medical system from being “overwhelmed”. That “overwhelming” never happened, our hospitals and medical system are in no danger of being overwhelmed now, and yet, the nonsensical dictates not only persist, they get more restrictive and ridiculous every day.
Don't underestimate the desperation and resolve of the America/American-hating Democrat/Left to achieve their objective ... and you will see their efforts will accelerate and intensify between now and the first Tuesday in November. There is no limit -- absolutely no limit to what the Democrat/Left is capable of doing and will do, even at their own expense. The America/American-hating Democrat/Left simply cannot "allow" Americans to re-elect Trump. The America/American-hating Democrat/Left is "all in" on this ... and you must know this.

Yes, they have definitely exposed themselves as the totalitarians that they are. I have been doing exactly what you’re doing, finding little places where they’re still sane and spending as much time as possible there. I live in FL where our RINO mayor recently did a mask order, which of course I refuse to do...Fortunately, my church (which has a traditional Mass) doesn’t enforce it, despite the bishop’s order (done to satisfy the Karens)i. If I go into a grocery store that requires it, I wear a bandanna because I don’t want to get the employee at the door into trouble for letting me in, and then I drop it. I notice that other shoppers do likewise. The same with restaurants - and I have noticed that some of them are kind of looking the other way when customers enter without a mask. But of course then you have the Karens, who immediately call to report the restaurant or who trash it on that Stasi app, Nextdoor.
One of the creepiest things about this is how eager your neighbor or fellow shopper is to drop a dime on you - as if they saw somebody from those old wanted posters at the PO! Major criminal, disobeying the state!
Right now I’m in North Georgia, where some places are nuts on the mask stuff (I just don’t shop there), many of the people seem pretty indifferent to it, and I’ve even found some places where both employees and customers just plain ignore it. I came here specifically because I knew it would be at least a little better than my place in Florida. It’s still sad to see how many little businesses, restaurants and tourist attractions have closed for good though.
You are right...and I think one of the reasons for this fear is because the government acted so fast and took away our livelihoods and even all of our most personal associations (church, family) that might have given us support. Suddenly, all that you have to rely on is the government, which has never been something anybody in their right mind should rely upon.
A brilliant master stroke on the part of the left. A bloodless war that had exactly the same effect as a bloody war on subduing the entire population and getting rid of people who might be a problem.
