Coronavirus deaths are dropping nationally. It’s all about applying the pressure to politicians now. They often don’t change policies instantly - pressure on them now to end the lockdowns will pay off down the road.

Great to see recreational basketball and baseball ramping up where I live in the suburbs of Houston. Swimming, football and water polo are still not competing. Are youth sports competing where you are or are they still too shut down?

I know it is not a principled stand that I am taking by doing this but wearing a mask and just keeping it below the nose is tolerable. I breathe through my nose anyway and I have only had one person tell me my mask was on wrong so far (I 100% ignored what that person said). This technique is good enough to get me into church, kids’ sports, and the very rare shopping that I do.

I agree with you, but In the Catholic Church’s defense - they have been stung by lawsuits in the past. Many (not all) of these lawsuits had no legitimate basis but were expensive to fight.
Some sort of CV immunity from lawsuits would certainly help people not be cowards. Perhaps it is no surprise that Sweden has no lockdown and they apparently have a legal system that does not lead to/allow many lawsuits. I like lawsuits but not with CV right now.
How many died FROM COVID; how many died WITH COVID?

You have to wear a mask to CHURCH? We had about 200 in service yesterday, and I noticed only two elderly people wearing masks.

Well, the RC church is a different animal because the actual church (the company of Faithful) has been obliterated and usurped by the papacy.
Your own words prove it and in pointing to “lawsuits” you strengthen my argument.
Restricted churches, of any tradition, are social clubs, not churches.
The nascent Christian church in Rome hid in the catacombs and suffered worse (death!) for being outwardly XPian.
Today, not wearing a mask is grounds for exclusion from church.
Do you like being excommunicated for not wearing a mask.
Of course, if you don’t mind being treated as a sub-human by your own ecclesiastical hierarchy, then you do you.
Masks achieve two ends.
(1) to hide your appearance of being human and (2) give others authority over your Faith and practice.
Note, this is not a diatribe against the RC church or the papacy.
It is a theological/doctrinal argument to eliminate the requirements for masks in ANY church.
The average American thinks the death toll from SARS-CoV-2 is 200 times greater than it actually is.
The news media have done their job well.
164K death out of 5000K cases. That’s a death rate of 3.24% — seasonal flu is about 0.1%. So Covid is about 30 times more lethal.
That’s apparent in the fact that 164K have died — even if one says the numbers are exaggerated by 100%, that’s more than the MAXIMUM number who have died of the flu in any year (2018 was the highest with 71K dead) - and this has been just 5 months.
It’s more serious than the flu. It’s not as deadly as Ebola or the Spanish flu, but it’s way more dangerous than the common flu.
Trust God and wear the mask. God looks after your everlasting safety. If one dies today or in a hundred years, that’s different from the eternal life. God doesn’t tell you not to take care for yourself and more importantly for others (the masks are more for preventing the wearer from spreading the disease inadvertently - as there is a 14 day incubation period with no symptoms)
I don’t believe the 164,000 number.
the masks do nothing. the average incubation period is 2-5 days 14 days is the outlier. Studies show there is little to no spread by asymptomatic carriers. Period
