Governor Charlie Baker on Friday announced a series of steps intended to keep the coronavirus from resurging in the state, including a reduction in the limit on outdoor gatherings from 100 to 50 people, and the creation of a new task force to enforce public health directives in harder-hit communities.
“Now we are seeing the virus escalate in certain communities around the Commonwealth and we have to put together a plan, working together, to stop it,” Baker said during his regular State House briefing. “This fight against COVID-19 is far from over.”

Seriously, Baker should open up, state-wide, to whichever stage of his opening plan is the widest without completely deregulating*, then call an emergency session of his legisl00ture to validate those regs. If they cannot validate them, open ‘er up all the way! People need alternatives, even if more COVID-risky, to venturing into the riot-torn cities.
*In Maryland, that would be our Phase III, as far as I know. But Lockdown Larry has chosen to keep us at Phase II, due to an increase in cases.
Charlie Baker and other piss-poor governors don’t realize that, sometimes, doing nothing is the best thing to “do” when feeling the urge to “get things done”.

Sigh. I am so discouraged by this...mostly because my wife is all onboard with this.
All I can do is shut my yap and let her wax on about how it is the right thing to do. This is a cause of distress for me, that she feels this way.
We have the same here and we’re in upstate NY. Talked to my manager’s boss the other day (my manager is a demonrat, HIS boss is a conservative from the private sector) and he said one person called in and said:
“My next door neighbor is back from California and I know they’re not quarantining; they’re Republican”
There have also been requests for the local Sheriff Deputies to FOLLOW CARS WITH OUT OF STATE LICENSE PLATES!
Demonrats never thought it could be a rental car or someone who lives in another state part of the year.

Does your wife also agree that it is fair for businesses, churches, schools to be locked down while THOUSANDS are allowed to be in the streets for days on end SCREAMING and destroying property!! At this point law abiding citizens being locked down while THOUSANDS are in the streets is a MOOT POINT!! I have had ENOUGH of this BS!!

Charlie Baker didn’t say a word when the rioters tore apart Copley Place Mall. But when more than 10 people meet in a bar or restaurant, it is a crime against the State.

I can’t discuss it with her. I love her. She is my wife. I am going to be with her for the rest of my life. I’m not leaving her.
I need to figure out how to navigate it. She is no leftist or even a liberal. It is a conundrum for me that I have to grapple with.
