What is the difference between Voting by Mail and Absentee Voting?
Nothing.
but “vote-by-mail” is the name assigned to the plan by mostly democrat administrations to blindly mail out actual ballots to every registered voter. Often with pre-paid return envelopes.
The existing absentee ballot rules for every state have various safeguards. Some states better than others. Generally, you request a ballot. THe state verifies your address is on file, and they now have your signature. They send you a ballot, which is generally in a sealed envelope, and you are supposed to open the envelope in front of a witness, who will then sign the return envelope.
Since you requested a ballot, they mark your name off, and you can no longer vote in person. You will have to make a formal request to cancel the absentee ballot in order to get your name re-instated.
You vote, and then sign saying you did not allow anybody else to fill out the ballot, and that you did so in front of a witness. You seal the ballot, and then put it sometimes in another envelope, the return envelope, which the witness signs (or the witness signs the ballot envelope).
You then can mail it back to the registrar; sometimes you are recommended to send it registered mail (I did so with mine this summer) so you have some chance of verifying that it showed up.
When the ballot arrives, your signature can be compared to the one for your request (note this year, in my state, I didn’t sign my initial request, because of COVID they allowed an online ballot request).
In the democrat’s scheme....
- Actual ballots sent to every registered voter.
- No witness signatures required.
- In some cases, signatures are NOT ALLOWED TO BE CHECKED
- You just fill out your ballot, and put it in return envelope, and drop it in the mail.
- In some states, people are legally allowed to distribute ballots, and to collect them, and there is no way to keep them from filling out the ballots.
Since half of registered voters don’t vote, if you simply run down the street the day the ballots are mailed, you can steal all the ballots, cast them, and in half the cases, nobody will ever know.
Remember, nobody requested a ballot, so they won’t know to expect one in the mail. Some might, at some point, say “hey, I want to vote by mail, and never got a ballot”, and they’ll as for one, and the state will assume their ballot got lost in the mail.
So, you ask for one, fill it out, send it in, and they now have two absentee ballots from you. Whichever gets counted first will probably count, the second will later be rejected, they will have no way of pulling the first and rejecting both.
And since you didn’t ask for a ballot, your name can’t be removed from the poll list. So, you show up at the poll, you can vote. If your ballot was mailed early, they might be able to remove the name from the poll list; but since you can send your ballot in the day of election, the cheaters will get them all postmarked too late.
So, you cast your vote, but someone also cast a mail vote. WHich one will they accept? Well, if the state had no previous mail-in-ballot capability, they are unlikely to have computer programs capable of matching the poll vote names to the absentee names. And if they DO, they can’t start counting absentee ballots until they have first taken the poll books, verified them, and used them to eliminate mailed ballots.
So probably, your vote at the polls count, but the fraud vote counts. ANd since only half the people vote, in most cases, only the mailed fraud vote will be cast.
In the end, we could have more than 100% of registered voters voting. People who moved will vote in more than one place, people in other states get ballots and can mail them in under their old address if they want. Or pople will collect the mail and vote your ballot for you.
People can get mail for entire nursing homes, and vote their votes, and who is going to know?
3rd-world countries who want to prove they have real democracy require everybody to show up at the poll and vote, and 90% of them do. 1st-world european countries require almost everybody to vote in person.
The United states is one of the few places were people are so lazy that we put together widespread ways for people to vote early and absentee. And now the democrats want to use mail-in-voting, both to generate fake votes for Biden, but moreso, to delay the results and throw things into the new house, which because current house is controlled by democrats, will simply have to refuse to seat some new elected republicans in a couple of states, thus making sure that 26 delegations are democratic.
In some states, like FLA, absentee voting is called voting by mail.
I bought a house in 2016 which had formerly been chopped into two apartments. I still regularly get first class mail for...I think I’ve counted nine people who haven’t lived here for years.
This year the federal government itself sent me two sets of census questionnaires—one to the upstairs apartment address which hasn’t existed for years. The federal postal service delivered federal documents from a federal agency to imaginary people at a nonexistent address—with a warning that failing to fill them out could result in a federal penalty. I marked the extra set with RETURN TO SENDER—NO SUCH ADDRESS and mailed them back. They sent another one a few weeks later.
We have a squeaky clean county government here. Everyone trusts them to run a clean, honest election. There’s gonna be hell to pay if the feds try to meddle in this.
Democrats have been losing I mean misplacing absentee ballots most of which have been military for years. Ever since they figured out that they learned heavily Republican.
Now they want mail in for everyone. Simply because they are moving all over the place from the mailboxes to the postal processing centers. Making mail in ballots easy to steal, lose, misplace, then the ones that do arrive can be analyzed by neighborhood and spoiled if they came from conservative areas.
yep,I live in Mexico and request an absentee ballot.Voting by mail is everyone on the list... people who moved away and re registered in other States.People who went to prison. Dead people. All of them get a ballot.HOW MUCH is ONE BALLOT worth if one election could be decided by 1 vote! If thePostal Union has endorsed Biden officially, where will the extra ballots go when the mail carrier KNOWS that the people died or moved...
I voted absentee in the Alabama Senate run off between tuberville and sessions. First, I had to print out and fill out a form. I had to include a copy of my driver’s license. I received the ballot a few days later. I had to fill it out. I had to sign on the outside of an envelope and have two witnesses to my signature.
That’s not like sending a ballot to every registered voter.
That would be my state of Washington. We also have a top two winners law, meaning that if the top two vote getters in the primary are dems, that’s the only choice you have. I love the beauty of this state, but I hate the politics. We’ve got 4 more years before we can begin to think about selling and moving.
Mail-in voting guarantees every migrant of any age and any location access to as many ballots to use for voting as they need to assure a communist victory...
In addition, it may be that there will be a sharp increase in the number of USPS employees that retire to a luxurious lifestyle next spring... The DNC pays well...
I as a registered biter request an absentee ballot. I fill it out and sign it under oath and penalty if perjury that it is factually correct. Thats called absentee voting
Mail in voting is when ballots are mailed to every address even if you no longer live there, even if you are not registered, even if your an illegal.....
Mail in voting is a corruptocrat wet dream
Vote by Mail: Simply mailed out
In some states, like mine, you have to have your signature notarized, as well. So you have to show your ID to the Notary Public, and sign in their presence. That should make it a great deal harder to fake a ballot, and give good evidence that it had been done if the ballot is questioned.
Trump should stop trying to support one and downgrade the other. The unwashed get confused.
They are supposed to verify the signature too, but they probably dont.
What these Dem governors are proposing is to send ballots to everyone whether they request it or not (thus bypassing the eligibility questions).
How will they check eligibility? Answer: they wont because its too big of a job.
Absentee in TN is for seniors or people who will be absent during early voting and election day...In TN we have to actually physically go in and show our picture ID and they check to make sure we are already registered to vote in the area for our home address ...and we apply for the form which is mailed to our address and then we mail it in by a certain date usually weeks before the election day....on the application we have to give the reason out of the country ...where ? away from home why ? (work etc)
Mail in.... the form is just sent out to whomever no proof they are a real person or American citizen or still live at that address ...or still alive...or old enough to vote ...or human etc...
My budgie could get a mail in form and I don’t have a budgie...
Mail-in voting is like those advertising circulars you get in the mail addressed to “Occupant”
> ...youre a racist. Or a cannibal. Or something.
To my knowledge, I have never consumed the flesh of someone of a different race.
Just throwing that out there.
Absentee = limited fraud potential.
Mail in = unlimited fraud potential.
“What I dont know is what are the safeguards used to validate these ballots.”
Don’t know if this had been addressed, but it varies by precinct, County & State (mostly by state).
One example: A recent discovery by precinct staff that a ballot had been cast by a dead person (they cross-checked).
Another example (of many): Ballots were found to have been cast after-the-fact by dead people.
Other examples of variances: ID, signature rejection, mail undelivered, no cross-checking for multiple ballots by voter...the list is almost endless.
If masks are good enough for Congress, then they’re good enough for the voting precinct/booths.
