Singletons looking for a date online are pretending to be more politically progressive to attract new partners, in a new trend that's been dubbed 'wokefishing'.
The term, coined by writer Serena Smith in an article for Vice, is a portmanteau of 'catfishing' where a person pretends to be someone else online and 'woke' which describes someone who is socially conscious and alert to injustice in the world.
Smith, from Leeds, claims she herself was a victim of wokefishing, as her former partner had lured her in believing the pair had similar beliefs, but revealed his true self when she decided to become vegan, sending her patronising texts with derogatory language.
In one case, a woman of Arabic descent found herself dating a man who discussed his disgust at the 'whiteness of his education' and wanted southern England to be more diverse, only to later discover he was a member of neo-Nazi groups.

I’m guessing that woketard girls are pretty easy. In my younger days I may well have pretended to be a woketard for said reason.
Yep. This isn’t new. I had a fraternity brother in college who was likely (hard to tell, about myself) no better or worse looking than me, but probably a bit too tall and thin, almost geeky; who constantly had girls, including one particular Saturday night (no judgements now Freepers, it was college...) took home 4 (!) yes 4 different women in one evening.
One from a ‘pre-party’ that started around 7pm; he was gone with girl #1 by 8pm; and back by 9pm. The actual party scheduled start time as normal was 10pm; but he was already gone with girl #2 by then. Then 2 more throughout the evening, leaving with one then coming back; leaving with girl #4 by 3am and showing up the next day around noon.
I just couldn’t understand it - I struggled to even make a connection with one girl at a time over weeks, let alone having 4 one-quarter-night stands in one evening.
So I asked him what he was doing, what he was saying to them to slay the women at that fast a rate. Now, this guy was a business major just like I was, and as conservative in his politics or more so than I was (this was the Reagan era leading up to the 49 state 1984 sweep...)
Simply: He was just pretending to be a liberal, and it worked like a charm. The liberal issues of the day, save the whales, save the rainforests, non nukes, acid rain, etc. His analysis was correct - the liberal chicks were more ‘easy’; and by talking briefly about a liberal issue or two without getting boring, if he got some level of agreement from the girl, he knew she was liberal, and he was ‘in’.
Crass, untruthful, unethical, yes. All those things and more.
But man, he had it figured out. Even after he told me his ‘secret’, I still couldn’t pull it off. Not willing to ‘score’ in that way, and I wasn’t a convincing liberal in any case, lol.
I recently broke up with a gal after three years. So, for fun I get back on Match. And I’m totally honest about age, new photos, and that I’m a Trump guy.
It didn’t take long for me to start getting these responses, from a few ladies who were crossing me off ‘cause of Trump.
I decided to back off a little regarding MAGA and say more that I’m conservative, post on FR and believe that this country faces a real crossroads in November.
All in all, I’d say there are 7 pro Trump single gals on Match for every 3 Anti Trumps.

You should have told her that automobile accidents are a terrible way to cull the deer, and that we need to reintroduce the natural predators: wolves and Indians.
She describes herself as being in the sex industry, so whether she's easy or hard depends on how much she's asking for. :-)
