Glad I live in the desert.
Ai-ai, Captaiaiain! It’s a hurricaiaiaiaiaiaine!
My SIL is without power in the Philly area.
Here in my retirement village in Connecticut, our lines are underground. They can go out, but the electric company gives high priority to high-voltage feeder lines.
Whatever will they do? Prepared much? I doubt it; like they say: what do we need farmers and ranchers for when we have Safeway?
Crazy hysteria about this storm.
The guy on the radio network news was so overwrought reporting there might be flash floods!
Oh my.
We are supposed to be scared of everything.
Isaiaaiaaiaaias! Ees like Hurricane Sandy!
Sister’s coastal home in Oriental, NC is without power and will probably be so for days.
Fortunately she is not in Oriental right now and brought her frozen meat out of her freezer when she left there.
Boo-hoo...man; the Chinese are going to eat our lunch.
Why can’t it be hurricane Bob?
Remember all the whining after Sandy....Now we will hear it with twice the social media and from folks who have been locked up for five months.
[[Sigh]]
Who to the what?
Folks should take you seriously when you don't even know the name?
Isaiaiasas? Really?
Buddy in Ridgewood, NJ, has trees and power lines down. Trapped on his street.
Gotta watch the weather channel, they’ve been known to stretch the truth a bit. Just yesterday they were reporting it was at 8t mph but their own on screen graphic was showing wind gusts from ocean bouts at no higher that 40 mph. Still tryin’ to figure that one out.
We live in Robeson County, which is right below Cumberland County were Fayetteville is, and though the eye of the hurricane (85 mph) went right by us, we never lost power. In fact, glory to God, we didn’t even have branches down or water standing in the yard.
Others in North Carolina had it much rougher, losing their homes and a couple of them their lives.
Those badly affected are in our prayers.
This storm was very hyped, but the far suburbs of Baltimore didn’t seem to be affected. I have power, nothing on the balcony budged (I took all the plants on the top shelves of my wire shelving units down and put them on the balcony floor), a few of my friends had plants fall over but nothing serious. My balcony garden got a good watering! We had a tornado watch until noon, but that passed without anything, fortunately. There were a couple of MD tornados, on the Eastern Shore. I hope the Chincoteague ponies are OK.
When I was driving from NY to NH yesterday, I passed a couple of fleets of utility trucks heading east, in preparation for the storm.
We still have power, which is kind of a surprise, but we’ll see what happens. The winds are starting to pick up here.
ROAD TRIP
Of course that means 16 hour days, living in motels and eating diner food.
Northern NJ here. A tree town and woods in back of me. Lots of rain and gusts, but we’re fine. We have a Generac, but power stayed on. Quite a sight out there at the height of the storm!
