The following video is the work of YouTubers Warped Perception and answers a question that probably a lot of us have had maybe our entire lives. Just what the hell does it look like inside your tires as youre rolling down the road?

Less filling than hard science.
Just right for a Sunday afternoon.
Looks like my last colonoscopy.
Because why not?
When I had my shop, a occasional Navigator with such low profile tires would come in and complain about the ride quality.
I had to explain to them that it was the trade off that they chose.
You mean there exists roads with no bumps? I live in Louisiana. I can drive across the state lines in Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas and immediately notice the differences in ride without having to look at the signs. And we pay more road taxes than they do.
I can’t say I’ve ever had a question about that.
Hillary ain’t no ways tired err bookmarked
Some people have way too much time on their hands.
It’s high time someone did this. By the way, those four tires are on every car whether electric or not. Those four tires made from oil. Plus your interior made from oil. Your paint, brake shoes, pedals, fender wells, cables, wiring insulation, foam waterproofing, headlight and taillight lenses and on and on.
Oil, the resource with millions of uses.
It’s cool people think up stuff like this to do. It was rather interesting to watch the tire flex. Makes you realize just how durable tires are to go thru that kind of deformation with every rotation of the wheel.
“Some people have way too much time on their hands.”
But, this is for furthering human knowledge and helping gearheads everywhere.
This is not settled science.
The question remains, is the speed of the tire contact patch actually equal to zero??? (In normal non skidding contions.)
I don’t care for the look of those rubber band tires that are so popular these days - and like you say, the ride is not good. Some hot rodders are trying to make their cars resemble a Hot Wheels toy or something.
The much stiffer rubber band tires do improve handling and cornering, for those driving aggressively. Anyone else is just getting a harsher ride.
Drag Racing tires get an inch or two taller
Comments from kids on the internet that have never made or repaired anything.
DANG!
That was cool. Thanks.
Dunno. It’s too dark to see much of anything...
