Gunmen have attacked a prison compound in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad and a battle with security forces is under way, according to officials, with reports of several casualties.

Sohrab Qaderi, a provincial council member in Jalalabad, said the attackers detonated a car laden with explosives outside the government-run facility, with two smaller blasts following the initial position.

Let the Afghan forces handle it.

I learned a lot about Afghanistan in the late 1960s. I was in the Peace Corps and trained to go there. God was looking out for me and I was ‘deselected’ two days before our group left. All but two of the 90 in our group returned after one month in country. Most with amoebic dysentery which can hang on for years.

As part of our training, we learned about Afghan customs and history. No outside power stays there long. Our 19 years might be a record in that regard. We are not going to make them better. We are not going to make them behave. We are not going to civilize them and we are not going to make Afghan men treat Afghan women better.

It is not our circus and they are not our monkeys.

All we can do is hope and pray no one is injured.

Somehow this just has to be Trump's fault. /s

Your post can be enhanced and become more believable if you would post several of your ‘multiple sources.’

With so many foreign sources I did not want to give “credit” to any particular source. With social media and live feeds from multiple international agencies and news sources a simple good search using a few key words would return dozens of sources.

They have no real navy, air force nor ballistic missiles.
besides 9/11 can happen. We can’t afford to be in deep state wars around the globe.

"It is not our circus and they are not our monkeys."

We're not there to feed the monkeys, we're there to pickup the heroin.

They also returned with quite a bit of Afghan hash...

You might want to read The Looming Tower Al-Qaeda and the road to 9/11.

Also Food for thought...
Some nation IS going to be the dominate power in the world. I think it should be America. Reason being 1. We made this world after 1945, 2. In spite of screw ups we have done as good a job as can be reasonably expected.
If Not America, then Who...China? They being the leading contender now. A world where the PRC is dominate is a VERY DIFFERENT world...and not in a good way.
Being the dominate power means 1. spending (and often wasting) vast sums of money on things like CV’s Fighter Aircraft..etc..etc..etc, 2. Sending young men & women off to hellhole places where they may be killed.

So for better or worse, here we are. Because the alternative, is not good.

Thanks for taking your time to research this.

The older, I get (thank you Lord), the more I believe we need to stay out of wars that don’t really involve us from WWI to the middle east to Nam and since then.

Thanks again!

Still trying to figure out WWI. It appears people thought it would be glorious.

Vietnam:We had damn near won that war when we pulled out...much like Iraq.
The thing these wars that”Don’t Involve us”, don’t stay over there.
