NEW YORK (WJW) Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred warns the sport will shut down for the season if the coronavirus isnt managed better, sources told ESPN.
Manfred reportedly told this information to the MLB Players Association Executive Director Tony Clark on Friday.
The reported conversation follows multiple coronavirus outbreaks within the league.

How does the Korean league deal with a player testing positive? The league will shut down for three weeks and then continue...
Korean league does not end until end of November...
So far Korean league did not have to shut down because of some player testing positive...
OK...Korean league is smaller than MLB...Korea is smaller than US...Korea has Covid-19 mostly "under control"...
I guess the Commissioner is serious about having to cancel the MLB season...
I am watching the Rangers vs. Giants game now...Many Giants players and coaches are wearing masks in the dugout...
How do you hold a runner on the bag while social distancing???
Just issue everybody Chloroquine tablets and
PLAY BALL!!!
Please shut it down. Someone will keep getting it every game and we cant stand your sport any longer.
End our misery by going bankrupt.
Is that a threat or a promise?
Do Koreans love their country or hate it like corporate American traitor baseball players?
2 cardboard cutouts were creamed by a foul ball the other night at the Indians game.
Somehow I could give a crap.
This is so easy to fix.
Every player needs to wear “black lives matter” on their shirts, and every team needs to hang “black lives matter” banners from their dugout.
It makes you immune to the virus.
It’s science!
So true
The coommissioner should be sued, then fired.
Oh, and BTW, everyone should stop watching MLB, NFL, NBA, WNBA, soccer, and all other woke cancel-culture sports a-holes. Pull the plug on extra-cost ESPN and other sports broadcasting. Not one more dime.
Is anyone even watching this farce of a season?
where do you watch Korean baseball?...what channel?

I don’t think Korean national anthem is played before the baseball game...
However, any player who does not show respect during Korean national anthem will be punished one way or other...In my opinion...I really doubt that any Korean professional league would tolerate any kind of disrespect for national anthem...Korea is really different from US in some ways...
It appears the Marlins didn’t take some of the directives seriously and now have a large outbreak on their hands, sending ripples through clubhouses on the East Coast. Then two Cardinals players turned up positive.
I wonder, first, how many of these test turn up false positives? IIRC, they test for antibodies, not the actual virus.
Secondly, the media is breathlessly hyping every COVID case. They’re trying to shut down football as well. How seriously Manfraud is about canceling the season is questionable. Surely, baseball doesn’t want the bad optics of daily COVID counts in the press but they also don’t want to bail on a season with big playoff honey pot which might salvage some bankrolls around the league.
My guess is this is more of a warning for teams to treat this more seriously. FWIW, the masks seem rather silly to me. Maybe wear them in the dugout and the clubhouse but, on the field, they would just hinder breathing.
What’s baseball?
After all the knees. No one gives a s**t
Who cares? Let them shut it down. No fans, no money.
Shut down the prima-donnas. Screw the kneeling pukes!
