Are you physically close to any neighbors?
Is the adapter not being recognized by Windows or are you losing Internet only? Can you print wirelessly when your Internet is lost?
USB WiFi adapters should be used on the front of your computer and not the back. They are low power and stuck in no mans land.
Do you have antivirus and malware installed?
restore to an earlier time when you bought it. Then stop the updates. period.
Sometimes the only way around it is to hard reset your modem...u plug it for 30 seconds and start fresh.
How far is the computer from the router?
Plug an ethernet cable into your PC, and the other end into your router. Then turn off your wireless.
Do you have a cellphone with Hotspot capabilities? If you do try that.
Clear your DNS cache and reset your TCP/IP stack. If it’s affecting your PC only, it’s possible one of those two issues. And reset your browser to it’s default settings, to clean your temp file folder.

...Mom?
Kidding.
My mom was saying she has no WiFi today. She was going to call AT&T about it. I wonder if this is a larger problem.
Try another browser as a backup. I have Firefox, Chrome, and an MS browser on all my systems.
The problem could be the Brave browser interacting with the network stack.
BTW: I am a computer professional. I have been a project lead on a web site development project. I have also taught tutorials on network protocols at an I.E.E.E. conference.
Has your provider been doing any work to “improve your service?”
We fall under xfinity and they did some work in the area and for weeks we had been having the wifi go off without reason or forewarning and it would slowly get itself back on after about 10 minutes after it is unplugged and rebutted.
We called the company after days of this, as it cut out our recordings and watching shows about a dozen times a day while it rebutted itself back into service. They gave me a $30 rebate and gave others that were not as nice as I was a $50 rebate. It took a couple of weeks, but they finally got it working. In other words, it wasn’t broke, so they fixed it. Call them and blame them. They are probably responsible for it and didn’t tell you they improved it.

Microwave can interfere. Are you cooking when you lose the network?
You could check the Power Saving Mode setting under Wireless Adapter Settings. Sometimes that can be a problem. Make sure it’s not shutting off on battery power.
Same here. . . .I was just sent a new modem and now the internet is going on and off. I think I was compromised with the old one. I am going to contact my provider again on Monday.
You may be getting some wifi channel interference from your neighbors. for some reason, most home routers like to default to channel 6. Go into the configuration in your wifi router and pick another one like channel 2.
There is a WiFi adapter out there that hangs up all the time on Windows 10. With Win 7, it runs just fine. IIRC, it had something to do with the WiFi chipset they used. Luckily for me, I had to hardwire my network due to throughput problems with WiFi and one of our programs. So my problem solved itself right away.
However, one of our Win 10 PCs could not be hardwired, as it is in an area of our building that won’t let me do it. I finally had to buy another WiFi card for it, disable the one built-in on the motherboard, and the new card has been steady as a rock ever since.
Not near the network now, so I can’t pull up the hardware information and tell you, but it was a popular chipset about 2 or 3 years ago, just as Win 10 was coming out.
Brave Browser is a good Internet browser. For the meantime, set it to automatically "Clear browsing data" for BOTH:
Settings >> Additional Settings >> Clear browsing data >> Advanced
and
Settings >> Additional Settings >> Clear browsing data >> On exit
For each of those, ENABLE all the selections EXCEPT "Site and Shields Settings" and "Passwords and other sign-in data"
For general cache cleaning, you might try Piriforms Cache Cleaner aka CCleaner. Download the free version.
Get a wireless access point that connects to your PC via Ethernet cable, and set it up as an alternate that you can switch to, and test your Internet connection. Find out, if this works better / more reliably, than the USB version.
Use Net Limiter, in order to monitor your PC's network traffic. Become familiar with what is the usual traffic, so you can, in contrast, notice the unusual traffic.
Become familiar with your Windows 10 hosts file; as part of keeping an eye out, for unusual activity. How to Lock, Manage, Edit Hosts File in Windows 10
If you have been using your ISP's DNS servers, try using some free and public DNS servers. Do NOT use those of Google, Cloudflare, nor Quad9.
Get at intel AX200 wifi pcie card.
Usb is not for networking. It’s PNP and kicks into low power mode whenever it feels like it. If you aren’t using an antenna, you aren’t doing wireless properly.
The reason why wireless works fairly well on laptops is because they wrap the antenna around the outer casing. With that usb dongle, you don’t meet that requirement. That usb dongle is a last resort if you are in a bind, not a reliable networking device for daily use.
That doesn’t have a external antenna,, that adapter doesn’t work well and is likely only ideal for laptops to add wifi to.
I only use dual antenna at home for desktops with a cable to move it away from the desktop. Even the desktop can interfere and cause it to run high power causing it to have a short lifespan
