The Miami Marlins' home opener against the Baltimore Orioles Monday night has been canceled, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan, as coronavirus cases continue to pop up among the team.

Anyway, as Tucker Carlson predicted. They will try to spread the misery as much as possible,
Would anyone notice?
Just curiously-are athletes still paid when games are cancelled?
I mean it must be some kind of contractual deal, right?
Marlins are sword fish and therefore dangerous and as killers, and thus are racists
After only 3 games (4 games for a few teams) into this short season, not a single team has a perfect record!
I find this fascinatingly odd. Every team is either 2-1, or 1-2! There are a couple of teams that are 2-2
Nationals ‘lost’ Juan Soto to the beerflu.
Apparently there is some concern over one of the tests he took that according to one ‘expert’ that a common cold would have triggered it.
What they AREN’T ‘telling’ us is that the # of tests has dramatically risen, some good, some bad, some have already been altered but, like they say ‘You can’t put the fizz back in the bottle’.
Anyhow it will be interesting to see how many of these HEALTHY, in shape YOUNG men will up and DIE from this.
‘They’ aren’t informing the public that despite all these ‘new positives’ there is absolutely NO great spike in deaths.
This is a farce and ‘we’ get to reward Dr(??) Fauxi with his own baseball card - if he had any gumption he would tell them to ‘shove it’..
He and his wife sat MASKLESS (no real problem with that) while he telling us we haven’t shut down enough, wear a mask and whether or not he is/was touting the mask, the (NOT SO) great mayor of DC had proclaimed earlier in the day that if you went out your door you needed a mask -1000 buck fine etc - then she ammended her edict by exempting a bunch of ‘dignitaries and city & federal officials/workers’
Guess she exempted the ones that had enough moxie to tell her to shove her ‘order’ where the sun don’t shine.
The season wont happen. If I were Trump and I saw these spoiled millionaires taking a knee, Id call for the cancellation of these seasons until further notice.
Its only right for our health.
And, as a bonus, it gives all these guys a chance to return to their neighborhoods and fight for social justice.
Marlins attendance will be the same this year as it was last year.
They should have an advantage since they are used to playing in empty stadiums.
Each MLB team is hosting Miami Marlins night, every night of the week.
They’re definitely still paid. They didn’t cancel the game.

LOL I see what you did there! Considering they are playing to empty stadiums, that is not a new experience for the Marlins players.
It’s sad in Miami that they have a beautiful new stadium but it hasn’t helped attendance.
It’s incredibly odd I have to think. Seems like one team always gets off to at least a 7-0 or 8-0 start.
Perkins or Fitzwater.
My propensity for conspiracy theories would say that the league knows it’s a short season, and in order to drum up the most public interest as possible, in every market, make sure that no team is left out of the playoff race, particularly early on.
Cancel ‘em all as far as I’m concerned...nfl too for that matter. At the end of the day pro (and ameture) sports are nothing more than entertainment. I’ll spend my time and hard earned money entertaining myself in some other way.
Too bad there are to many people that live their lives vicariously through their favorite sports team/player. I used to do it...but I REALLY woke up.
Perkins?
Perkins?
Marlin Perkins as a play-by-play announcer: "Just as the relief pitcher is brought in to protect the lead, you, too, need protection."
No Problem.
