He summarized that witnesses told APD a vehicle began honking its horn as it turned south onto Congress Avenue from 4th Street. He said the vehicle stopped as there were a large number of people in the roadway.
Manley said that Foster, who was holding an AK47-type assault rifle, approached the driver side window of this car as others in the crowd began striking the car.
Gunshots were fired from inside the vehicle at Mr. Foster, Manley said. During the initial investigation of this incident, it appears Mr. Foster may have pointed his rifle at the driver of this vehicle prior to being shot.
Another individual told APD that after that first volley of gunfire and seeing the car drive away from the crowd, they drew their concealed handgun and fired multiple shots at the car. Manley said this individual was also brought to the homicide office to be interviewed, and this individuals handgun, along with Fosters rifle, were also taken into evidence.
Both the driver of the vehicle who fired at Foster and the individual who fired at the car later on have been released pending further investigation, Manley said. He also noted that both people have concealed handgun licenses.

The now dead ANTIFA protester approached the car and pointed the gun at the driver, but did not shoot.
The driver shot from inside the car and killed him,
The second set of shots you hear are someone in the crowd shooting at the car.
Shooting at the car in that situation with people all around it seems like a very reckless thing to do.
Land of the free .... still believe !!
Stay off the roads, streets and highways & don’t attack drivers unless you’re cruising for the Darwin Award.
One freak down, hundreds to go.
Ak47 shooter justly killed. Second CCW shooter should be charged.
From your link....
Austin Police Chief Brian Manley confirmed that the man who was killed was Garrett Foster, 28.
Fosters mother also confirmed that he died during an interview with Good Morning America. In that interview, Fosters mother said that he and his fiancée had been demonstrating in protests almost every day for the past 50 days.
A GoFundMe Account for Foster has been created, noting that he leaves behind a disabled fiancée who uses a wheelchair. The two had been at the protest Saturday night, the GoFundMe account says. As of this update, the fund has gathered more than $96,000 in donations.

I haven’t found where AntiFa Garrett hails from.
Also, the article doesn’t mention if AntiFA Garrett is the owner of the AK.
But I thought you're not supposed to shoot at someone fleeing the scene as they no longer present a danger to you. Hypocrisy on the part of protesters against police! That "someone" in the crowd shooting at the car needs to be imprisoned! (Yeah, fat chance.)
The victim is the vehicle will very likely walk....
And just prior to the shooting, AK boy was calling non-anarchist citizens, “Pussys.”
He spoke too soon.
Tweet from the idiot, lib Mayor of Austin....
Mayor Adler | wear a mask.
@MayorAdler
In a split moment, three guns were drawn, eight shots were fired, and a protester was tragically killed. This is horrible as is all gun violence. There are too many guns. Our City is shaken and, like so many in our community, Im heartbroken and stunned.

This scenario makes more sense. I was trying to figure out how the AK guy could have fired 5 rounds point-blank, and the driver returned fire and killed him.
So, now we have confirmation that these ‘peaceful’ “protesters” are armed.
AntiFa Garrett, as well as the other AntiFa’s who fired at the speedy away vehicle.
So the wigger with the AK , was dating a black gal in a wheelchair and that caused him to become BLM sympathetic to the point he was approaching drivers of cars with his AK and threatening them, until one such driver approached capped him. Sounds like just about the right outcome to me.
“Protesting every day for 50 days”. I guess that was his occupation.
Totally agree. If the car was leaving, then there is no way the 2nd shooter could believe his life was in danger.
