Time to admit the Internet (”free” Internet content) is run and manipulated by a number of de facto monopolies that operate in the legal loophole of behaving like publishers but with the legally granted immunity that they are not. Not only are they de facto monopolies they are also, with their government sanctioned loopholes, mush like public utilities as well. Time to put them under federal rules that disqualify all their censorship, in as much as current regulations prevent them from being sued for any of the content their users produce. We can leave them with that legal fig leaf but honor that fully by reducing their ability to censor.
