Woman calls mask wearers ‘cult members’ as she’s asked to leave Central Florida Walmart [video]

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — A woman was caught on camera calling people wearing masks at a Central Florida Walmart “cult members.”

The woman’s outburst happened Sunday at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Red Bug Lake Road.

The person who filmed the video said she was walking into the store as the woman was being asked to leave by a store manager.

In the video, the woman being asked to leave can be heard swearing and saying, “I’m not wearing a mask.”

Seminole County officials have enacted a mask mandate that requires people to wear masks while in public to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The order says people working, living, visiting or doing business in Seminole County will be required to wear a face covering consistent with CDC guidelines while at all businesses, places of assembly and other places open to the public.

Mask mandates are not legal IMO, but if the business asks you to leave for not wearing one, you must leave. You can take your business elsewhere, you can write bad reviews, you can try to sue if you are so inclined. But the business can set its policies and trespass you if you want to create a problem from it.

They were laughing at her while she was melting down.

Hilarious.

I practically suffocate breathing my CO2 output over and over. I cant imagine being employed at a place that requires a mask and working that way all day.

Then you're not going into the store.

Yes, harassing store employees (who don’t even have any say in store policies) or other customers over things like this is both pointless and infantile. That someone would believe they have some special right to remain on private property while violating that private property owner’s policies requires a high level of entitlement. Reacting like this is just a desperate plea for attention and a demand for being treated special.

Simply saying “I disagree with your store policy”, leaving, and taking your business elsewhere is plenty sufficient.

She’s just voicing what 89% of us are thinking! Buy that woman a beer!

I’ve worn one (that was provided to me) at the Dentist the other day, but I only had to wear it while walking through the lobby.

I’ve not worn a mask to our local Walmart, neither have others. I wore one at a Big Box store early this spring, again, because one was provided.

I haven’t bought a mask, and I won’t.

You mean like a painter? Or a doctor or nurse? Mold remover? Welder? Pest control?

There are dozens of jobs where people wear masks of various kinds for hours every day. Some kinds of masks take more getting used to than others, but none are any kind of health risk.

Did I read that WalMart is now going to require masks in all their stores?

That’s true! But usually not for hours, right? I feel like if you’re spending hours robbing the bank, something has gone terribly wrong.

Masks for the most part are a psychological crutch, of very limited to no benefit whatsoever. Rebreathing your own carbon dioxide over and over provides little in the way of healthy breathing, and gradually depletes the body stores of oxygen circulating in the blood stream.

More than just a pretend barrier to microbial inhalation or exhalation, they also form a sort of disguise, covering much of the facial features by which identification between people is made. The eyes, a very vulnerable part of the face in regards to airborne pathogens, remain unprotected, or if some kind of eyewear is worn, the mask causes fogging up of the visual protection.

Better alternative - a transparent face shield, which protects the eyes, nose and mouth from air droplets caused by the sneezing, coughing or vocalizations of others, and also contains most of whatever sneezing or coughing to which the wearer may be subject. The facial features are not obscured, making ID much simpler.

Not a burka, nor a raised scarf, it is both easier to keep sanitized and to remove or replace than many mask designs. Some designs are combined with a bill like a ball cap, and extend around the sides of the face, allowing room to wear eyeglasses if needed. And the one-time cost is considerably less per use than disposable paper or flimsy cloth masks.

[[[[You mean like a painter? Or a doctor or nurse? Mold remover? Welder? Pest control?]]]]

Most occupational filter masks have exhaust valves to allow long wear durations without forcing you to rebreathe exhaled air. I know, I wear one all the time when in dusty or fume conditions. Quite a difference from the masks being worn around by the general public which expose you to a percentage of exhaled air to rebreathe. They are simply not designed for hours upon hours of continuous wear time.

I watched the nurses at an infusion suite the other day and every one of them managed to pull theirs down at least every 5-10 minutes or headed out of the building on a break. They are simply not designed to be worn continuously for long periods of time. They are typically worn for a procedure that lasts maybe a couple hours on average and then thrown away.

Oh, and the BS “fashion” masks are essentially useless compared to even the “square” procedure masks. I was in a doctor’s office where patients were given one and told to take off their fashion cloths.

Think what one wants

But if you’re rude to a store employee who is just trying to keep their job and has to enforce mask policy, you’re an asshole.

Don’t like it, don’t go there, but don’t be a whiney, rude bitch (not you, Diana in Wisconsin, I mean the generic “you”)

I’ve done a lot of retail and customer service, only an inbred lowlife who deserves a low spot in hell is rude to the poor sucker at the door or cash register when they are just trying to do their job.

And, she can call them cult members while she leaves.

America still works.

She’s at least partly right. I don’t think their masks are going to protect them, anyway.

GOOD for her!
Glad to see whenever someone stands up to this nonsense.

And yes, I know some of you will no doubt feel the need to ‘educate’ me on your cult ideas. But my conclusions are made on all the evidence and I have been following closely, working in a hospital. So don’t bother. But surely some won’t be able to contain their Karen selves.

"inbred lowlife"? "deserves a low spot in hell"? for being "rude"? Clearly you have suffered significant psychological damage from your career in "retail" and, ironically, in "customer service" to think like this.
