Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by 4 percentage points nationwide in a new Hill-HarrisX general election poll.
Forty-three percent of registered voters said they would support Biden for president if the election were held today.
By contrast, 39 percent of voters in the July 3-4 survey said the same of Trump.
Five percent of voters said they prefer someone else. . . .

As apolitical scientist I have taken and created many polls, surveys, studies etc. There is ALWAYS bias. You cannot control for all of it. Most importantly (info the polls won’t share) there is deliberate sampling bias in selecting and weighting who participates.
There’s another poll out that has a 47/47 tie and Trump up 6 in the battleground states
This pole has one of the more realistic breakdowns of Democrat and Republican voters.
Republican 32%
Democrat 37%
Independent 29%
Other 2%

With 18% undecided or third-party, it appears that the pollsters didn’t push the respondents very hard for a choice. In the other polls that were showing double digits leads for Biden and few undecideds, I’m guessing a lot of the Biden support is very soft and can easily swing back to Trump by fall. Being the invisible candidate, Joe Biden is like a generic Democrat vessel who people assign any view that they want. That will change when Biden has to leave his basement and communicate and defend a vision for the country.
What kind of useless poll is this. Do they really think Trump is going to get 39%? If Biden is up 4 Nationwide with registered voters Biden is going to get crushed.That being said, this poll is rubbish so Can’t even be excited.
