It depends where you lived. There were different chains that used the Big Boy system and mascot. In Michigan it was Elias Brothers. Frisch’s restaurants used to be Frisch’s Big Boy.
I’m sorry, my mistake. It wasn’t Frisch’s it was Shoney’s that used to be a Big Boy Franchise

IIRC there a few even here who had no problem with statues of Confederate officers being removed. Said they had no place in society or something.

It’s Frischs in the Midwest Ohio area, Shoneys is in the South and up in Michigan there were Elias Brothers BigBoys. I’ve eaten at them all but never at Bobs out West.
I read that Hooters has now gone woke and changed their name to Looters.
