First-ever baby echidna, or ‘puggle’, is born at San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park

The little critter doesn’t have a name yet, and its caretakers have yet to determine its sex. But they believe the puggle hatched on Valentine’s Day and say it is doing just fine.

The puggle still spends its days slumbering in the safety of a dark burrow in the ground. Its mother stays nearby and visits the burrow to nurse her baby every three to six days.

Monotremes are proof that God has a sense of humor.

Lol! Is Rosie still styling her hair to look like Steve Bannon? She was for a while, hoping to get on SNL and imitate Steve.

"A face only a mother echidna could love."

But only every three to six days per the link.

So it looks like an anteater, and it eats ants, but its not a real anteater.

And it's a mammal, but it hatched out of an egg, like a platypus.

The San Diego Zoo is the right place for it.

Baby echidna. At first, by the name, I thought it was something new at Taco Bell.

I have long thought that as the Seventh Day was approaching, God farmed out certain tasks to various angels in order to meet the deadline.

They needed a road crossing algorithm written for the Squirrel Logic, and since resources were low, God reluctantly gave the task to an angel named Edgar who had failed on every assignment he had been given.

Well, he didn’t make the deadline and they had to install the program in the state it was in.

God wasn’t happy when the first squirrel tried to cross in front of an oxcart, got all the way safely to the other side, then turned around and ran directly in front of the cart to be crushed under the wheel.

They have never had time to go back and fix that program, and things only got worse when automobiles appeared.

That’s very imaginative. I can see the story being told in Claymation formed characters. A Burl Ives type baritone narrates the tale. Steven Speilberg directs.
Light Bluegrass music with acoustic guitars helps to carry the theme.

That’s how it starts.
First you have a baby puggle.
Then another one.
Then a bunch.
Another bunch.
And boom!
It’s on!
Struggle with puggles.

Heh, I like that...now that you mention it, there does seem to be a commonality between Egar the Incompetent Angel and Hermie the Dentist...:)
