He was a Republican and very well educated. His life story is inspirational. Playing this song before the National Anthem will be better than playing rap music. It is a hymn written in 1899 as a gift for Lincoln’s birthday. It is only the nickname of it that is bothersome. He did not name it the Black National Anthem.
If it is a BLACK National Anthem, then it is not a NATIONAL Anthem. Folks can sing anything they want. I’m fond of Amazing Grace. But I don’t pretend Amazing Grace is our national anthem.

When did you decide to become such a divide and conquer troll? Where are the lyrics to the white national anthem? And are you okay with a specifically white National Anthem being sung at events?
That’s in the hymnal of the church I belong to, and we occasionally use it. When I first encountered it, I thought it was inspired by World War I, but I later learned that it was written earlier.
It is in Comicbookland and called Wakanda. If course this utopia is purely fictional, just like most of the other commie inspired delusions.

This is a truly beautiful Christian hymn. Can’t wait to see what happens the libtards discover that this Christian anthem mentions “God” at least four times.
I’ve never once heard of any “black national anthem”. I’d bet it’s news to the overwhelming majority of black people, too.
those needing a black national anthem don’t want to be equal but to remain separate and feeling less than, and like they don’t fit in or belong.
If they wanted to feel and see themselves as equal they would embrace what the country stands for and what the country’s national anthem is. The rest of us have chosen, by choice of living in this country and either being born citizens or chosing to go through the legal process of gaining citizenship to accept this country as it was founded and laws etc as is - worts and all.

I see now why they picked it. NO MENTION of America, and they can pull the wool over EVERYBODY’S caucasian eyes and get them to “Sing Along” about Africa their “native land” while laughing their a$$es off the whole time.
