Where is the evidence that face masks prevent the spread of COVID-19? Possibly the N95 may provide the wearer with a degree of protection, but as others on this thread have cited, there is evidence to the contrary.
The Science says that masks of all types to not stop the spread of flu virii.

The purpose of these masks is *not* to prevent the wearer from getting infected but to reduce the chances of the wearer from spreading the virus if they are infected. When you exhale, speak, cough or sneeze, you emit particles of mucous or saliva that can carry infectious agents. Surgical masks are not intended to prevent the surgeon from being infected, but for the surgeon to not infect the patient - same logic.
The masks are to keep the wearer from coughing/breathing it out, to block water droplets from escaping your face that carry it, like covering your mouth when you sneeze but better. That’s why almost any face covering still somewhat works. It’s not necessarily to keep you from breathing in tiny viruses yourself but also helps

IF someone wants, or feels the need, to wear a mask, that’s fine...I have no problem with it. It’s a free country. But they DO NOT have the right to force that crap on anyone else.
I was in Lowes a couple of days ago to get some paint. An old man and lady came down the aisle where I was standing looking at paint. He wasn’t masked, but she was. She said: “You need to be wearing a mask, sonny (Im 70 years old). I politely said: “Ma’am, I’m here for paint, but I did price out 300’ of chainlink fence a little bit ago.” She said; “What’s that got to do with wearing a mask?” I replied: “Well, I was gonna put the chainlink fence up to keep the mosquitos out of my yard.” She said: “That’s stupid.” To which I replied: “Exactly....and so is your damn mask.” Her husband liked to split a gut laughing.

If you want to be free of the “rona” wear a hepa mask or a military gas mask. Then ask me how it feels breathing through either of them while wearing them.

God made us in his image. I take that to mean that the faces we possess are God’s work and in his likeness.
A society where all faces are now masked, takes away ones uniqueness in a new way.
God is not happy. It is like blocking out the view of his design. God did not put people on earth to hide their faces.
No, that is *exactly* how surgical masks (and these face coverings) work. It is *not* for the protection of the wearer.

The thing is that the virus (like other viruses) is hitching a ride on larger particles of mucous and sputum, and the mask helps keep those from spraying around. Is it perfect? No. But it reduces the viral load in an area - remember, viral diseases are generally not transmitted by a single virus hitting a host but by getting to a certain concentration in an area. For example, you will not get HIV from a single virus (if this was possible, everyone in San Francisco would be HIV positive and they’re not), but a single drop of blood or body fluid contains enough viruses to successfully infect a host.
