I’m not gonna start a mask/hate fight.

Did you do what I shared in a previous post about wearing masks.

If you did not. You do not have a dog in this hunt.

No idea what you posted and really don’t care. I’m not even talking about the politics of masking, but simply how masks actually work. You are denying the actual physics behind surgical masks.

For your next surgical or otherwise invasive medical procedure, I hope the staff doesn’t wear those masks that “don’t work” so you can find out why they’re worn.

I already only buy in person what is absolutely necessary.

Anything else is done online.

Why is it necessary to cause financial pain to local small business’s to get the point of displeasure to Governor Abbott?

Take it straight to the Gov.

Hey it is your thread but IMHO not a very well thought out strategy.

What have the store owners done to make you want to financially hurt their already struggling business’s?

Is your theory to hurt enough business’s so they will carry your message of disapproval to the Gov? That is just not right.

Larger big box retailers are often highly leveraged. Many of these companies are led by SJWs or craven executives fearful of social media or MSM backlash. Boycotts work. Ask Gillette.

My disagreement wasn’t due to if they work or not.

I just think it is way wrong to boycott someone who isn’t the person you are trying to get your message to. But it’s your thread like I said. Just, in my opinion, a dumb and cruel thing to do to already struggling Americans. And I am pretty sure that “Bob” the owner of the local hardware store isn’t going to appreciate the idea much either.

What alternatives do we have? Governor Abbott isn't up for reelection until 2022, if he chooses to run for a third term. At the ballot box, we have three choices: a Republican who may or may not be good; a Democrat who is always bad; and a third party candidate, such as a Libertarian, who is a wasted vote at best. Civil disobedience comes with a fine and a misdemeanor on your record.

In the larger cities, the big box stores dominate most retail areas. A number of them, like Target and WalMart, are run by either "woke" management or cowards. Many of them are struggling even before COVID-19, due to leveraged financing and troubled cash flow. I would argue that the larger retailers are in more trouble than the "mom and pop" shops, which tend to be specialized and less dependent on outside financing.

Well this is a vanity post, so all opinions should be valid.

You think it is ok to boycott private business to punish elected officials. I don’t. PERIOD.
