Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have set their sights on creating another expansive sci-fi series.
The Westworld duo are developing a show at Amazon based on the Fallout video game franchise. Their Kilter Films banner is producing the project which has a series commitment penalty attached, meaning it would go directly to series if Amazon execs are on board with the scripts.
The Fallout series, which began in 1997 with the original game, is set in a world where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. With their Amazon project, Nolan and Joy will look to bring the harshness of the wasteland set against the previous generations utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy, to the small screen. The project will look to retain the games harsh tone, which making sure it is still sprinkled with moments of ironic humor and B-movie-nuclear-fantasies which players of the epic franchise know and love.

I enjoyed the games I played, and I enjoyed the first season of Westworld...
We had few HBO awhile back and tried Westfield. Other than Ed Harris it was unwatchable to me. I’ll take Yul Brynner in the original any day.
BTW HBO sucks in general IMO
HBO has gone waaaaaay to the left.
Westworld season one was fairly good. I tried to get into season two and just couldn’t. I’ve heard that season three doesn’t involve the Westworld park at all.
Series based on games. Glad to see I didn’t give up on most of modern entertainment culture for no good reason.
“Ive heard that season three doesnt involve the Westworld park at all.”
Well that’s a brilliant move...sheesh
Fallout: New Vegas would have been a better choice.
They’re going to screw it up.
Jodie Whittaker, Brie Larson, Rian Johnson levels of screw it up.
Oh good, another property that I enjoy turned into a woke disaster.
“Fallout Series From Westworld Creators in the Works at Amazon”
hope it’s better than westworld ... 1st season of WW was great entertainment ... 2nd season was a hot steaming mess, so much so that i’ll never watch another episode ...
WW season 1 great. I still accepted season 2. Season 3 was awful and I never bothered to watch the end.
I think they’ve approved WW for multiple additional seasons. But viewership plummeted.
Well lets hope the west world creators dont screw it up as badly as they screwed up west world.
Not sure what to make of this.
HBO can’t seem to produce anything without dangling phalluses in our faces.
Man, I hope your wrong...but....
Once they killed that Danish actress I lost interest. She was the best thing about the show.
Quite a few RPG’s have good stories now.
Video games are a multi billion dollar industry.
They put legitimate work into their stories.
I have a feeling you’re talking smack without knowing anything about the games, or any games.
Could not get through season 2 - really tried but just hung it up.
They have always been left. Most of the shows promote LBGQT. Yes, I have been a occasional subscriber. Except for a few notable shows, I lose interest after the first or second season. The writers seem to lose interest.
