WOW. Ran across this 37 min. video. Due to some Irish ancestorey, I did know some of this-Lots of stuff-but powerful information-Gobsmacked I am. I am not familiar with this person, but she shows all sorts of books and historical documents for proof—What she says would cause a lot of cognitive dissonance in certain people.
Excerpt and link below:
********************
“Our history is written by the victors. What presentation of our history would best suite their chosen ‘end game’ for us?

The straight up erasing and twisted of true history has happened on a variety of topics of course, but specifically the topic of slavery has been erased and retold in a way that points to another agenda that has been set up. Who gains and who is set to lose are the questions we need to ask.”

The privilege they erased from history.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

What an INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT and well told and documented story! I opened up a file specifically on slavery for this, and also filed this under my “History” file. Great find, greeneyes!

I was able to find links to most of the references she cited. For those who may wish to archive them or follow up on them so they may share detailed info with others, here are some links:

I saved the Wiki articles she referenced in above you tube:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_slavery

Treaty information:

Lyrics to Mother Machree:

Information about the David Brion Davis book referenced, “Inhuman Bondage”

https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2013/06/06/how-they-stopped-slavery-new-perspective/

She did not reference this, but it is further info about the Davis book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/178670.Inhuman_Bondage

She referenced a story in an April edition of ARGOSY, but I could not find the year - therefore was not able to find the reference. It may not even be online. She held up the hard copy magazine to the camera.

I did find this:

https://brill.com/view/journals/nwig/91/1-2/article-p30_2.xml?language=en

She referenced a book by Foster Rhea Dulles:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/301145.Labor_in_America

She referenced a book by John van Der Zee, “Bound Over: Indentured Servitude and American Conscience” :

https://www.amazon.com/Bound-over-Indentured-servitude-conscience/dp/0671541188

She referenced “Proclamation [by the King] for the due and speedy execution of the statute against rogues, vagabonds, idle, and dissolute persons.” Upshot is that poor people, criminals, etc., could be stolen and sent away...and local courts/officials would receive a portion of payment...as would the King.

https://quod.lib.umich.edu/e/eebo/A21990.0001.001?rgn=main;view=fulltext

She makes the point that it was the practice of snatching kids on the streets during the execution of this decree, from which we get the term “Kidnapped.”

Also referenced was Edward Channing’s Vol 3 of his “A History of the United States”. She notes that it says that 10,000 white people were kidnapped to be sent to America for this purpose in one year, 1670:

https://www.amazon.com/history-United-States-3/dp/1143801245

She looked in the records of Middlesex Country [sic] and learned that in 1662 a law was passed saying that white slave burials were not allowed to be secret anymore because so many were beaten to death, and therefore there was concealing of murders by the masters.

She makes the point that it was blacks and whites TOGETHER who were held in bondage and slavery. It is the power elite who have altered the story thereby not allowing us to know our real history….a history which if known would draw white and black together. Blacks genuine suffering has been told over and over again, in order to engender the resentment and hatred within them. But the white story of slavery is never told, by design.

She discusses modern slavery today. According to her sources, about 48 million people are in slavery right now.

This following info can stop the white guilt narrative:
”in 1640 there was not yet any real legal entity of permanent slavery yet. The only Durante vita, or servitude for life up to that point were the white slaves who were considered to have no rights because of their accused crimes in the British Isles….”

Nothing in law regarding slavery for life existed until Georgia Northampton County court records show us that Anthony Johnson sought to legally become the first to own a slave for life in America.”

edu.Iva.virginia.gov

ANTHONY JOHNSON WAS BLACK!!!

Free blacks owning slaves became quite common, she notes, according to various sources.

She references the Journal Article
“Free Black Owners of Slaves: A Reappraisal fo the Woodson Thesis”

R. Halliburton. Jr.
The South Carolina Historical Magazine
Vol 76, No. 3 (Jul., 1975), pp, 129-142

I did not find a link to the source from The South Carolina Historical Magazine, but did find this reference to it:

https://civilwartalk.com/threads/the-civil-war-and-reconstruction-1865-1890-with-eric-foner-part-3-video-reconstruction150.109918/page-8

During Trail of Tears, the Cherokees took with them their enslaved blacks.

White families who owned slaves in 1840:
7.4%

Black and native Americans also were known to hold white slaves. “In 1670, the House of Burgess, alluded to this fact:

‘…Noe negro or Indian though baptyised and enjoyed of their own freedome shall be capable of any purchase of Christians, but yet not debarred from buying any of their own nation.’”

This was also written into the Virginia’s Slave Code of 1705, “that no negroes, mulattos, Indians, …ore Jew, Moore, Mahometans, or other infidels, shall at any time, purchase any Christian, nor any other except of their own complexion, or such as are declared slaves by this act.”

That means Indians and black people were still owning Christians, which was a euphemism for “white person.”

She examines the phenomenon of white guilt and the lies taught to our young people today, both white and black, and the psyop assault on Western Culture. They are being taught it was Christianit to blame for our current ills.

Discusses Anthony Johnson with a PBS slant. (Good for liberals since they are more likely to believe it.)

RE: SLAVERY:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sure you've heard that some ignoramuses are wanting to "cancel" the National Anthem -- because the third verse contains the word, "slave".
That is precisely the ignorance problem that the lack of -- or warped -- teaching of history allows to happen!
The referenced "Slave"(s) were Non-Black IMPRESSED Sailors. (Look up "impressment" and "War of 1812" together...) Here's an (annotated) excerpt from
"British Navy Impressment"
Impressment, or “press gang” as it was more commonly known, was recruitment by force. It was a practice that directly affected the U.S. and was even one of the causes of the War of 1812.
The British navy consistently suffered manpower shortages due to the low pay and a lack of qualified seamen. During wartime the navy forced unwilling individuals into service. Residents of seaports lived in fear of the press gangs that patrolled waterfronts and raided taverns, pouncing on deserters and idle mariners. Prints from the time show armed gangs kidnapping men in their beds, or barging into weddings and hauling the groom out much to the distress of the bride.
But generally “pressing” took place at sea where the armed gangs would board merchant ships. These ships were ransacked of their men and often left without sufficient hands to take them safely into port.
<SNIP>
While essential for the strength of the British Navy, the brutal nature of impressment was deeply unpopular. Many viewed it as an inhumane and unconstitutional system.
American merchant vessels were a common target. Between 1793 and 1812, the British impressed more than 15,000 U.S. sailors to supplement their fleet during their Napoleonic Wars with France. By 1812 the United States Government had had enough. On 18 June, the United States declared war on Great Britain, citing, in part, impressment.
So -- the "Slaves" in the Anthem were Impressed seamen from all the world's merchant navies -- and had ZERO CONNECTION TO Black Slavery.
And, the US fought the War of 1812, in part, to end that particular form of slavery!
Cancel Ignorance!
Texokie, your subject, more information;
From a 2016 Townhall article;
“Incorrect facts regarding race and slavery:”
https://townhall.com/columnists/jackkerwick/2016/07/21/racially-incorrect-facts-regarding-race-and-slavery-n2195701
Snip...
“Relative to their numbers in the population (27 million according to the 1860 census), a miniscule number of whites owned slaves. Eight million whites lived in the South, but of these, fewer than 325,000 owned slaves. What this means is that only 1.4 percent of the total white population consisted of slave owners, and only 4.8 percent of the white Southern population did so.
In glaring contrast, in this same year, there were 4.5 million blacks living in America, and 500,000 blacks in the South. Over half of these—261, 988—were freed men. In the city of New Orleans alone, more than 3,000 blacks owned slaves. That is, 28 percent of the free black population consisted of slave holders.
In 1830, the Census Bureau notes that free blacks owned more than 10,000 slaves in the states of Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina. As Halloway remarks, “Large numbers of free Blacks owned black slaves in numbers disproportionate to their representation in society.”
In some cities during some decades in the 19th century, more than 75 percent of the free black population was comprised of slave holders, and some of these black masters owned property in slaves that rivaled that of some of their wealthiest white counterparts while far exceeding that of most slave owners. The widow C. Richards and her son, to cite the most notable example, owned 152 slaves.
Some other interesting—racially incorrect—facts:
For four decades (1630-1670), those Africans who became freedmen owned white indentured servants.
The majority of urban black slave owners were women.
Virtually all of the black slave masters were mulattoes who not only enslaved their darker brethren, but refused to marry or even attend church with freed men of darker hue.”
snip...
“But it wasn’t just scores of black Africans who were brutalized by Muslim slave traders. As books like Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, The Barbary Coast, and Italy, 1500-1800and White Slaves, African Masters: An Anthology of American Barbary Captivity Narrativesconfirm, so too were millions of white Europeans and, in the 19th century, white Americans.
After all, it’s not for nothing that the very word “slave” derives from the experience of mass enslavement suffered by the Slavs, i.e. white people.
These are some racially inconvenient truths that neither President Obama nor any other RIC (Racism Industrial Complex) representative would ever want included in an “honest discussion” of race and “racism.” “ (More at link)
Good digs, greeneyes & texokie!
Also research the Highland Clearances.
And what happened to the Highlanders after the ‘45.
Thanks for that dig. I wouldn’t have had time to do it right now. I am going to explore all those links further to print before they go down the memory hole.
