Margot Robbie is set to lead the charge in a new “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise.
Scripted by “Birds of Prey” screenwriter Christina Hodson, the new “Pirates” flick will be female-fronted beginning with Robbie and Hodson, multiple reports on Friday said.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the new “Pirates” should not be considered as a spinoff of the wildly popular Johnny Depp-driven films centered on Captain Jack Sparrow – but is a "wholly original story with new characters" in which inspiration was drawn from the famed Disneyland ride and already has many fans speculating which character Robbie might encompass.

They must be awful desperate to throw money into a pit.
This is a whole new separate thing. It just has the same title.
Sounds like it will be as big of a blockbuster as the Lesbian remake of Ghostbusters.
Because “Ghost Busters” worked so well.
The only good female lead flick is Bandidas with Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz.
This is a public service movie to show those concerned with such things how woke this studio is.

I think all these white women out protesting and rioting and looting here lately are all pumped up from watching super action women in the movies. They think it is all real.
All media now is saturation with ridiculous feminist or homosexual sermons. Pure evil.
I suppose if I was from a planet that had a rich history of female pirates I could take this seriously, but I’m assuming that the draw will be boobies.
I can’t wait to not go and see it. Such breathless anticipation.
I used to always joke that the film industry releases these duds for tax breaks.
I’m not so sure now I was wrong.
Especially if most of the theaters are still closed when it launches. Lol

Have you looked through Redbox lately? Crap, crap and more crap.
Bird of Prey was OK except she’s not a hot little skinny number anymore- All I kept thinking was wow, how jiggly she looks in those tight, tight shorts.
She’s absolutely gorgeous, but a gorgeous 40 year old body can’t pull off the original suicide squad moves.
Ghostbuster remake was awful.
Almost every single line in the original movie is quotable and recognizable.
None of them were in the ‘reboot’ and the plot was dumb.
