If your looking for another John Carpenter cult classic check out the original 1976 “Assault in precinct 13”.

Agreed!

“”I’m here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I’m all out of bubble gum”.”

I’m not sure you can call it a line for a movie. He used the same line when he arrived in Portland, Oregon, attached to the NWA at that time and wrestling up there in 1975. The movie was made in 1988. He finished his career living in Portland and created Pro Wrestling Gorilla in 2007 which went bankrupt in 2012. He did voice overs for a number of characters. He provided the voice of himself in “Metal Militia”—an episode of Cartoon Network’s animated series Robot Chicken, the voice of The Pyro Messiah in the Night Traveler, he provided the voice of Bolphunga in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, the voice of Don John in the Adventure Time episode The Red Throne, and his own likeness in the 2013 video game Saints Row IV.

And yes he could play the bagpipes very well:

And just for some fun, he was trained in mixed martial arts by Gene LeBell who also taught other famous combat performers as Ronda Rousey and Chuck Norris. He allowed Rousey to use Rowdy as she previously refused to until he did out of respect for him. Piper was teaching MMR late in his life. Interesting guy.

It turns out that “Idiocracy” was actually a game plan

I’ll go even further back: Dark Star. I’m a bit of a Carpenter aficionado. I even have Carpenter’s ‘Lost Themes’ CD in my car at the moment. Good compilation. Track 2 ‘Obsidian’ is awesome. Don’t know why it didn’t make one of his movie soundtracks.

I know that is what John Carpenter said.

No one seeing the media today can believe that the media is controlled by rich Reaganites.

They filmed the movie across from the old Bank of America Data Center located in Los Angeles where I worked at the time. They shot some scenes inside our Parking Structure on a weekend.

You can see the Building prominently in the Film. It’s the one that has Windows only on the upper floors. It looks like a Bunker, because it was...

It's from "The Running Man" and based on "The Marching Morons" "Would you buy that for a quarter?

FYI: Idiocracy is also based on "The Marching Morons."

No, that was Robocop.

The best was “I’m here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I’m all out of bubblegum”.

Someone else recommended this flick here not too long ago. I really have to watch it as Rowdy Roddy was my one and only wrestling heartthrob!

Greatest line in the movie:
I’D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!!

To me, it is "I've got one who can see!".

Very chilling. Reminds me of The 1978 remake of "The Body Snatchers" scene:
