Harley-Davidson said this week it was done with a dealer in Tennessee over a racist social media post. In a now-familiar ritual, the dealer has denied writing the post, saying it got hacked. The dealer also owns a Honda store, and Honda said it was investigating. Harley decided this week it had seen enough.
The post in question was attributed to Russell Abernathy, the owner of the Honda and Harley stores, in addition to a Polaris store, all in Union City, Tennessee. It was flagged by a local activist group on Twitter and is almost cartoonishly racist:
Abernathy then put this statement on his dealership website, still there as of this writing. Never a great thing when you have to put a statement like this on the website of the business you own.

This whole mess is starting to get nuts and most of us out here are getting pretty sick and tired of it.
He says both his twitter account and his facebook account was hacked.
I would assume, if it was, it was malicious, and he could have provided the names of someone who got mad at him who might have done so.
I know people get hacked all the time, so I know it is easy enough; I don’t hardly care about my facebook getting hacked, because I never thought someone could get me fired by stealing my facebook feed before.
Alright! That’s want I want to hear. Now I’m definitely going to buy a new Harley. /s
By the election, people will be fed up with this sh*t, and they will *WANT* Trump to send in the national guard to crack heads and shoot sh*theads that need to be shot.
Well, as the battery wears down, will be just as slow as the current ones.
I didnt see anything Raciest in the guys post.
It's not clear whether his "take your black asses back to Africa" comment refers to ALL black people or just the BLM crowd. If it's the former then yes it is racist to suggest that the respectable law-abiding blacks have no place in American society. If it's the latter I have no problem with it.
Dude also needs to read a history book if he thinks American Indians were the only group that was ever mistreated in American history. Slavery was brutal for the majority of black slaves even if some slave owners weren't as bad. There was also the Chinese Exclusion Act, the Japanese internment camps, and indentured servitude of various white ethnic groups. If someone denies the Holocaust happened or tries to whitewash it we call him an anti-Semite. By extension then someone who tries to whitewash slavery or deny its existence is an anti-black racist.
Wow, stoner dudedoesnt know a lot about history.
Once something stops being taught properly, you get a better idea of its importance.
i think in context of their discussion its clear to what group the remarks were aimed at.
Make sure you me tion the several thousand black slave owners and also that the first slaveholder in America was black.
Dont also forget to discuss the irish slave trade and the massive deaths and atrocities committed by the british to them, they did a super job at almost wiping them out as a people.
You wrote “Seems like some pearl clutchers work for Harley Davidson nowadays.”
Unions are historically liberal democratic correct? Which I assume makes them PC...and if so very dissapointing for a company like Harley.
I gave up on HD many years ago. I have had BMWs over the past 30 years, they are very reliable and very comfortable to ride.
The British slave trade in whites also included Scots during the Highland Clearances and after the Jacobite Rebellions, along with poverty stricken and criminally convicted Englishmen and Welshmen, as well as Irish rebels. A good book on the subject is They Were White and They Were Slaves, by Michael Hoffman.
i will check that out, thanks
I might have bought a few small parts from there online.
...if not, why she's nothing but a caucasian-ist, gentile-ist, hetro-ist, fat-ist, ugly-ist, old-fart-ist, right-ist, bald-ist BIGOTED HYPOCRITE WENCH!
...and as such....must lose her job(ASS-U-ME'ing she's got one), as well as be socially shamed into human irrelevance.
...unless and until she takes the time to "reflect, learn and grow" from her "hateful" choices opinions.
(SMH...country is "growing" permanently stupid by the day)
It also depends on what sort of Union, and what part of the country they are in. Police and Fire Unions will vote for Republicans a lot more than the Private Sector Unions. Certain Union vocations are more prone to vote Republican than others.
Unions mostly don't care about all the Democrat social issues, they mainly support the party for what they see as their own economic self interest.
These "blue collar" Democrats are more likely to support Trump, especially if they see him as beating back foreign competition and bringing jobs back to America, or other things they see as in their own best interests.
The worst Unions are the public sector Unions that are not Police or Fire. Government Employees unions invariably vote Democrat.
“The worst Unions are the public sector Unions that are not Police or Fire. Government Employees unions invariably vote Democrat.”
I sort of mostly agree with that but not quite. I just finished 30 years with the DoD in one of 3 Navy depot level rework facilities. Where I was is largest employer in Fla (2500-3000 employees) but never gets recognized as such because it is public sector. Anyway a large majority of employees at all 3 deppts are military retirees, vetrans etc. and I’m pretty sure many are as conservative as we are and vote accordingly. I agree though, never had much use for unions, especially in government work. They tend to make it even more difficult than it already is to weed out the dead wood and employ quality workers. Having said all that federal workers get painted with a broad brush here on FR as useless parasites of the system. I agree there is that but the people that I worked with are for the most part hard working America loving patriots that gave a whole lot for this country while in the military and continue to support the US Navy Warfighter so our freedoms are protected.
Now, we could have a discussion about federal worker benefits and compensation but that’s another subject. Lol
You are quite right.
