Section 1385, in 1878. Congress has also enacted a number of statutes that authorize the use of land and naval forces to execute their objective. The Posse Comitatus Act outlaws the willful use of any part of the Army or Air Force to execute the law unless expressly authorized by the Constitution or an act of Congress.Nov 6, 2018

I interpret the posse comitiatus above to mean the military can not be used as a policing force over US citizens. This is far different than protecting us from foreign and/or domestic enemies.

The interpretations I’ve seen discussed here sounds like what we’ve “been led to believe”. I think some here that are wiser than myself should look Into the original wording with the understanding that our military is to protect US, even if that means fighting. Not all wars are on foreign soil.

And what’s this 2018 act of Congress krap...do we not know by now just who and what the majority of Congress are?

:: the military can not be used as a policing force over US citizens...on US soil ::

Correct

the military can be used as a “war” force on US soil against an opposing force..also correct.

Even if that opposing force has US citizens in it and even if it is fighting an asymmetrical war.
If asymmetrical, the military must be measured and equivalent; meme-for-meme.

I printed out the document at the link that Q drop had to Rand org. Number 3 seems to be a potent point:

1. Original intent- to end Federal Troops monitoring State(not Federal?) elections in former confederate states.

2. Navy and Marines were not included-but are covered under DOD regulations.

3. All military are exempt from prohibition pursuant to presidential power to quell domestic violence.

4. War on Drugs is exempted-ie military can be used for law enforcement as part of the war on drugs.

5. Coast Guard is exempt during peacetime.

6. Aerial photographic and visual search and surveillance by military doesn’t violate the act.
