Former White House national security adviser John Bolton said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that he plans to vote for Joe Biden over his former boss President Trump in November.
Why it matters: While Bolton's scathing upcoming memoir about his time in the Trump White House makes clear his disdain for the president, he is a lifelong Republican and conservative who runs two political action committees dedicated to supporting GOP candidates.
What he's saying: “In 2016 I voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton,” Bolton told the Telegraph. “Now, having seen this president up close, I cannot do this again. My concern is for the country, and he does not represent the Republican cause that I want to back.”

Looks like Bolton is Maryland. I don’t think that the Old Line State is seriously in play, but if Trump ends up making a run at it but losing it by 1 vote, then I guess this matters.
It’s John Bolton who can’t distinquish between national and personal interest.
Read first few pages of his book. Terrible writing and boring to boot. He may sell a lot but its not going to be read.
It actually makes sense. Biden supported the Iraq war and all the other fruitless Middle East bloodshed just as Bolton advocated. They are truly kindred spirits when it comes to failed foreign policy and neither of them has learned a thing in 40 years.
No surprise there...the wetbacks that live a couple of towns over from me are gonna be voting for Plugs as well.Most of them more than once.

Same. Romney, too. My family won’t make those mistakes again. The GOP is headed to the wilderness post Trump. A fake party with fake leaders and a fake agenda. Much of the GOP establishment defacto backed Hillary in 2016 and now they are lining up for Biden in 2020. A party that stands for nothing will be nothing.

In Bolton’s case they reveal a vengeful self-absorbed careerist as you described. When big people have the chance they rise above a bad situation and have mercy on others unless bringing them to justice has a role. Bolton was fired and is so small and petty he lies and slanders another man without hesitation or restraint.
Where David in the Bible would say how can I sincerely repent, Bolton says “Which cameras will be on me when the segment starts? I have some new things to say against Trump.”
Chris Christie probably recoed Bolton!
