Life long Georgian here. I have always wondered why we as Republicans would fight over statues put up by Democrats in the early 1900’s? Why would we fight about a flag that Democrats fought under? No Republican fought for that flag. Why are we supposed to now? Because Democrats want to purge their own past?
I had a GA legislator say to me in 2018 that he had a problem with Democrats taking down the statues. I replied, “why? They put them up. Just make sure people know that as they take them down”
