Each generation has its own stereotype. Baby Boomers are known for being technologically challenged and intolerant to change. Millennials are apparently overly sensitive and kill everything. Gen Z is known for its obsession with social media and lack of focus. According to the American Psychological Association, these stereotypes are often wrong, and can even be harmful in an age-diverse workplace. Generally, there is tension between the youngest and oldest generations in a shared space, like Gen Z and “Boomers,” but the latest battle in the generational wars is between Gen Z and millennials, Twitter user local__celeb uncovered a series of TikTok comments in which younger users roasted the generation ahead of them.

I don't get this one at all. We were there when technology started to have more widespread use. I returned to graduate school one fall to find the library had replaced the card catalog drawers with computers. I owned an Apple IIe. All of my work for nearly forty years has involved use of computers and other technology. I love being able to write and edit or correct errors without typing the whole damned thing all over again. I've used cellphones so long that I don't remember exactly when I started using them. I'm a huge fan of the internet. I like carrying volumes of books around on my Kindle. That is probably the experience of most people of my generation. Where I draw the line is using technology for everything. I can turn on the lights or the faucet myself. I don't need to have my refrigerator hooked up to the internet.
My experience differs. We’ve got our first batch of gen Z age kids at work, and they’re all ambitious and keen to add the needed practical skills of our trade that they didn’t learn in school. Which is normal.
In fairness, we take a lot of care in hiring, and try to select only diligent and conscientious people in the first place.
The individual attitude is what matters, not the media-driven “generational” groupings.
Probably the boomers, but the ones who really had the fun were probably too high to remember :-)
I agree and would add for myself the ability to discern right from wrong, foresee both good and bad outcomes of my decisions, and the deep sense of shame I might bring upon my family if I did something illegal.
As a baby boomer my “give a crap” card has expired.
I am at the age where it no longer matters (to me) what the younger generation does. If they want to vote in a socialist dictator or erase all their history from the public square I say go for it. They will have to live with the consequences.
Me I will be dead and gone (and forgotten) in a few years so I don’t have any skin in the game.

I was born in January 1960 as the last of 8 children and consider myself to be a Boomer as I was always considered an old soul amongst my family.
Unless they are taking care of their parents, in which case, their parents are living with them.

I’m a boomer and in 78 owned my own company with three what they used to call “mini” computers. Those were the ones that were a big steel desk with a built in screen and keyboard. Migrating off those boat anchors to PCs in 84 I have been on every version of Microsoft’s platform through XP, Vista - was a Microsoft tester for that one - Win 7 and now Win 10. Also own four or five Apple products.
Not really trained for this - I was an English and philosophy major - but boomers are quick to learn new technology and I trained younger boomers and Xers aournd me for years. Have an X cousin who once tried to tell me that “We are the computer generation and you are the TV generation.” I told her that I was on computers when when was three years old.
Pre boomer/mid-greatest generation here. Sort of the not suffering fools gladly/George Carlin school of philosophy.
I am a Millennial and this generation is pure cringe.
The proper response when one of those little punks says “OK, Boomer” is “F**K YOU, P*SSY!”
Just don’t do it at work. It will get you called into the HR witch’s office for assignment of mandatory sensitivity training.

Gen X was busy making money, being industriust, and providing good homes for their families. So busy and successful in fact that their millennial children grew up extremely pampered and spoiled rotten.
My experience with co workers and those I interact with in retail or office settings as well as the experiences of friends that are business owners are what I have to go on. And what I have observed is that the ride is going to be bumpier not smoother, and I don't necessarily blame parents who cannot (if they even want to) counter the brainwashing of their children in school, the media and probably the music they listen to.

My high schooler was making fun of me just yesterday by telling me 'we've moved on from ripping boomers and now millenials are the ones we hate. Don't worry dad, we don't care about GenX, you guys don't matter to us'. Sometimes it's good to be Jan.
Amen to that! We grew up in simpler times and don't expect much from those around us. It's a much less stressful outlook to life.

Kicked a Millennials ass 2 weeks ago. They were never spanked. Never taught respect. Never got their ass kicked when they were younger.
Yeah. It was worth it. Maybe he’ll learn to respect his elders? He disrespected my girlfriend, me. Laughed in my face, wanted to know “what I was gonna do about it old man?”. He found out.
Not really blaming this guy in the article. Except to say you run your mouth you better be ready to back it up. Or just shut up and take it. 5/1 is not very good odds. Chances are he learned nothing.
