Other way around. Since the #$%$^&@!! is a juvenile, 18 months is the MAXIMUM.

He did not perform the killing, he just picked up a knife and handed it to the murderer.

I don’t get that it’s the victim’s family, but Family Court. I’d have to see more info on that to know. But the Family Court likely has some ad litem or whatever they call it, a legal representative for the 14 year old “child” murderer.
