Which justifies subduing him, but not having Chauvin’s knee on his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, with plenty of observers saying he was killing Floyd and Floyd telling him so as well.
Once again, it doesn’t matter what Mr. Floyd did before he was killed. It does not excuse what the police officers did.
I’ve been warning a lot of leftists that this could go the same way as the Rodney King beating trial. And that resulted in the infamous LA riots.
George Floyd may have been the match that ignited all this insurrection, but he has nothing to do with what is going on now. We have antifa in league with the democrats and the deep state to ether get rid of Trump, or burn the country down as we know it. The repubs and all of us are not even putting up a fight. Ether we fight back, or we deserve what is about to happen to us.
Oh oh
The media is a weapon used to advance the interests of the New York City powerful interests over that of "flyover country."
We need to understand it is a weapon and start treating it like it is a weapon.
We either need to seize it or break it. Either way, we need to deprive the enemy of it's use.
Just like they never showed the clips of Rodney King attacking the cops.
No excuse for what that one bad cop did.
The more I learn about this fellow, the more I feel that he brought it on himself. I think the knee should have been removed when he lost consciousness, and CPR performed, but I don’t feel any more outrage. I’m certainly not interested in his beatification. Let the officers have their day in court, I’m done with it.
Too late. The damage has been done. The left took advantage of another crisis..
I saw this on the first day, and have been wondering what the folks here who tell us that suspects pretty much get what they deserve for not following police’s orders think about it.
Coupled with the autopsy findings the jury will be challenged to convict
If the Americans of African Descent really want justice, they should find Floyds meth dealer.
Well, what matters is that the Jury will see it. Had he gotten into the car, he’d be alive today. Do what the Police tell you and don’t resist. Instead of ratcheting down the tension, he caused it to increase. That’s exactly what the defense will be saying.
Now, that doesn’t excuse what the cop did. He still used excessive force. What this may do, is prevent him from being convicted of murder. Which in a sense, would be a disaster because they’ll burn down the city after that verdict.
There’s video of the moments before, also, which show him walking along the building front, falling down several times with the arriving cops gently pulling him back to his feet.
Something was going wrong with him long before the cops got there.
Still doesn’t justify dropping 200#’s on the man’s neck and leaving it there for 8 minutes...
When the fight is over, it’s over...
Police officers all across the country deal with drugged out suspects resisting arrest hundreds, perhaps thousands of times each day. They manage to make to get them to the police station alive. Four Minneapolis cops couldn’t manage the same with George Floyd and wound up killing him instead.
There is more body cam video coming of Floyd resisting arrest and crawling out the other side of the police car.
If the evidence is true Floyd had a mixture of meth and fentanyl, Floyd contribute to his own death too driving his heart rate to the extreme while resisting.
MeganC: “complaining that he couldnt breathe long before anyone put a knee on him”
If true Floyd was already having medical issues before the Knee.
I would say resisting arrest is relevant on the level of charge.
We do not have all the info, we will have to trust court system to decide what happen and live with in.
Look, folks...you can argue this gig one way or another....but, you can be 100% sure the real truth will come forward from the four cops defense lawyers during the upcoming trail. Stay tuned this story has many legs..period.
However...if Mr. Floyd was breathing heavy and gasping for air before he was on the ground, the cops should have cuffed him and called for EMT/AMT medical help, immediately!!! It appears he was either sick or overdosed on drugs. He certainly did not deserve to die!!!
