The video the media doesn't want you to see. George Floyd resisting arrest for 3 minutes while officers attempt to get him in the back seat.

Following police procedure does not make you a dirty cop. Nice try.
+1.
“Once again, it doesnt matter what Mr. Floyd did before he was killed. “
That is the big lie of the left. They focus on the act of the police rather than the resistance by Floyd.
They try to limit the argument.
Once again, it doesnt matter what Mr. Floyd did before he was killed.
An obese ma a with a serious heart condition and on a meth/fentanyl good ball should not be tussling with cops for 3 min round..It could kill him
The powers to be at the higher echelons will sacrifice a meaningless pawn in a second. Especially if that makes them look good (taking action in crisis = leadership), and diffuses some of the pressure on the police department itself (i.e. blame the cop not the department).
That does not mean that later when all the facts are looked at, that this cop actually did wrong. There are several things in play here, IMHO:
1. Did the officer follow the guidelines on how to restrain someone?
2. Was Floyd resisting arrest?
3. Finally there are additional factors, i.e. possible health conditions with Floyd which the officer could not have reasonably known about. The size of the guy he’s trying to restrain, was the guy being arrested acting like he’s on drugs (this matters because you’re worried about him being unpredictable)...
From a personal perspective, and I struggle with this a lot, I had to attend the court marshal of a peer of mine. He euthanized an Iraqi in 2004. At the time justice took its course and he was found guilty of manslaughter and was crushed. Today, I tend to believe that he was unfairly treated because we forget: (1) we get to see the consequences of what happens next and have perfect 20/20 hindsight, (2) we have months to think about it and get to hear every pundit/expert and in my peers case even neurosurgeons testifying as to whether that person truly was about to expire or not (based on UAV footage). (3) we are operating in a perfect world where we are not tired nor worried about our own safety. That cop didn’t have the luxury of time, expert advice, the medical history of Floyd (heart disease apparently), and his pucker factor is at 100%.
Given the situation of a big dude that is resisting arrest and possibly on drugs, is applying what appears to be a pretty brutal restraint albeit authorized by his department, reasonable?
The cop also deserves to be treated fairly.
The attorney for Lane gave information on Court TV. Delay in ambulance arrival, 8 min. , Floyd kicked out the passenger side door, and excitable delirium. Sounds like a very dangerous person
“Once again, it doesnt matter what Mr. Floyd did before he was killed. It does not excuse what the police officers did.”
Agreed but what it does show is this case is not about police targeted racism.
This was a combative suspect and if he got in the car upon arrest he likely would continue to be alive.
The officer, who actually knew this man on a personal basis was trying to make the suspect comply by holding him down. The officer made a horrible mistake and killed the man but it does not seem to be race related.
This case is not a reason to vilify police officers and claim there is a terrible problem with racist police in this country.
That’s Obama talking.
I have no objections to the invasion of Iraq, or the reasons used to justify it. The invasion went fine. The massive screw up was when George W Bush allowed Paul Bremer to make something I consider to be one of the stupid decisions of which I had ever heard.
Bush allowed Bremer to disband the Iraqi army and ban all past Bathe party members from holding employment in the government. When I first heard this idea, I started screaming at my radio. "You idiots! Do you not know this will take the very most dangerous people in Iraq who do not currently hate us, and make them into our blood enemy that will not rest until they have driven us out? "
It was the stupidest possible thing we could have done. We did not even do that to the Nazis in Germany. Our policy was "If you aren't proven to be involved in crimes or war crimes, we will allow former Nazis to continue doing their jobs with no further trouble to them. "
*THAT* was the common sense way to deal with the problem. Disbanding the Iraqi Army (which employed many many bathists.) denied income to people and left them with free time to plot revenge. The Sunnis were the most dangerous people in Iraq, and with that stupid blunder, we convinced them that we were their enemy and that it was in their best interests to kill us in any manner they could.
I think the bombs started going off a couple of days after this idiotic announcement by Paul Bremer. It turned into exactly the disaster I thought it would.
Did anyone watch the ceremony? I watched 20 second tidbits a few times, but it was unwatchable. Anyone know who the white pastor was that said something to the effect of “I bet the last people you want to hear from are white people”?
Really cheesed me off. He said that after invoking the name of Christ. One thing to have a despicable opinion another thing to imply Christ would approve of it.
it looked to me like Floyd collapsed early on in the arrest, either due to drug/alcohol intoxication and/or a heart-type issue; after that, looks to me like he could barely stand up and the only way the cops could keep him upright was to hold him up against the cop car ... after that he obviously resisted getting in the cop car ...
I read a lot. There are many people who believe that this "protest" was artificially created for the purpose of political benefit to Democrats for this election year. There are deliberate provocateurs who scour social media and the news looking for events they can use to fire up the black base because the polling was showing a heavy support for Donald Trump among black males. (40%)
I've also read that the Chinese bot farms are doing everything they can to ramp up outrage and disrupt normal conditions in the USA because this serves their interest.
My point here is that if it had not been this, it would have been something else. Once Agent provocateurs are engaged in creating a false outrage, they will not be stopped by reality.
For example, the reality of this George Floyd incident is that the cop very likely did not kill him. It appears he died of a combination of having a serious heart condition and taking meth and fentanyl.
People think the cop's knee on his neck killed George Floyd, but it appears that's not accurate at all.
Prior to this George Floyd incident, it was all about Arbery getting killed by two rednecks with a shotgun. Left out is the fact that Arbery charged at and assaulted the man holding the gun.
The goal here is to stir outrage, and any incident which could be made to look like it was unfair to black people, was going to get used to stir this outrage.
To sum it up, it wasn't caused by this cop. It was caused by people looking for excuses to cause it, and this cop just happened to be in an unfortunate place at an unfortunate time, presented with an unfortunate circumstance, and took unfortunate actions.
I’m not going to conclude either way, and that why it is up to a jury to make the call. Unfortunately the mob wants to lynch the 4 cops.
cmon now...wait another 6 months..another criminal will resist arrest, and it will all be repeated...
“In the present case, the evidence is still trickling out, and one big question everyone should be asking is “where’s the body cam footage?” Do you think that it’s being withheld because it makes the officers look worse? Or maybe it adds context that makes things look a little less callous.”
___________________________________________________________
That’s an excellent point. I’ve heard an unverified report that the reason the body cam footage hasn’t been released is because it shows Floyd kicking an officer, telling them he has COVID-19, and spitting on them twice.
I believe if the body cam footage showed Floyd in a favorable light, it would have certainly been leaked to the media by now.
We all agree that the officer shouldn’t have had his knee in Floyd’s neck as long as he did. He likely will go to prison on a manslaughter charge. Even if Floyd died from the cardiac arrest and drugs, it doesn’t matter now. If you punch an 80 year old woman in the stomach and she dies of a heart attack, you will be charged with murder. If someone is kept in a blood or air choke for even 2-3 minutes after they pass out, they are dead.
I learned a long time ago to treat the police with respect and “sir” them out - and they will respect you. If you act like a jackass, curse at them, and resist arrest they will treat you like one.
2. What Floyd did before his arrest very much so will explain why such a harsh form of restraint was used.
And this video is cut short. Floyd becomes more combative for a few minutes while they try to sit him up and get his seat belt on. He eventually manages to work his way out the opposite traffic side of the car.
The significance is not about what I can learn by using unconventional news sources. The significance is that the public is being interdicted from important knowledge because their dominant sources of news deliberately exclude this knowledge.
They aren't acting as "news" services, which I believe they were required to do under the Communications Act of 1934. They are acting like political agencies with an agenda to manipulate elections by with holding information detrimental to their ideology and their candidates.
Seems like it ought to be an FEC issue as well as a communications issue.
Do you have an illegal news source?
Not illegal yet, but I keep seeing sources getting banned. I know certain opinion is illegal in foreign countries, and of course our "private" corporations are all too happy to use their "private property rights" to censor opinion the Chinese or the Germans or the British don't like.
They act as proxies for foreign governments, and I have no doubt whatsoever that if Obama was in power and asked them to do some censoring, they would be all too happy to comply.
Something to consider is the possibility of the suspect spitting on you or just breathing on you due to the Covid threat. Maybe it was the only restraint possible to prevent such. Who knows, maybe he told the cops he had it.
