AUSTIN, Texas The Black Lives Matter movement continues to be as important as ever, and many Austinites descended upon downtown streets to partake in protests.
If you're looking for another way you can make a positive impact in the community, you can take action by supporting black-owned businesses in your area. We've made it a little easier for you by providing a list of black-owned businesses in the Austin area.

Apparently, I've been shopping incorrectly all these years. I go to stores that have the items I'm looking for. I have failed to trot down to the Chamber of Commerce for a list of only black own businesses and only shop those whether my needful item is on the shelves or not.
I'm supposed to avoid businesses owned by Asians, Whites, Hispanics, Indonesians, and every other race now. Hmm, that sounds racist.
Uh THIS (...The Black Lives Matter movement continues to be as important...) required a BARF notification be included. Just saying! I know, I know. NOT agreeing with that makes one a racis’.
Sorry, I was planning to wash my hair that day.
This will end up hurting those businesses more than helping them because many people will avoid doing business with those who support rioting.
Oh, like labeling which businesses are Jewish, so good Germans can shop at good German nazi approved businesses.
Should I shop there with “My Black Friends”?
Asking for a friend...
“Black-owned Austin-area businesses you can support”
Nope.
For 20 years I paid $1000/yr for season tickets to NFL games. Black owned? No but I did my part for black millionaires.
Does the list mean, “If it ain’t on the list, firebomb the sonofabitch”?
DING DING DING!!! A WINNAH!
Not so veiled guide to who gets a pass on a firebomb . . .
I’ve noticed KVUE has veered dramatically to the left.
Of course they were always slanted that way as all the other Austin media outlets, but KVUE has taken off their cloak of acting ‘balanced.’
They were broadcasting a live feed this past weekend of the protests that erupted into riots.
KVUE also went so far as to alert their viewers of the planned protest on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm in front of the Capitol — nothing like feeding the mob some free air time.
Can’t get any unbiased news out of uber lib Austin.
Well, we have to say this...this would be a much more productive use of an actual “black lives matter” narrative to promote and support minority owned businesses and using the energy to compile a list and distributing it for people to patronize those businesses rather than violent rioting that destroys those very businesses and takes away their livelihoods as has been done in so many cases of the last couple of weeks.
You should. It probably isn’t wise for a cracker to walk in by themselves these days.
The Black Lives Matter movement based on a lie cannot have any validity.
I guess I am old fashioned. I believe in patronizing businesses that provide goods and services at a good value. I generally do not scour the list of owners to ascertain their race.
That’s not a list to support, that’s the list of which to leave alone while they loot and burn.
Not until these black owned businesses denounce the violence and destruction that has been perpetrated in thier names, and not until they get down on thier knees and pledge to become better countrymen, instead of a race group.
So basically I will never support any of these businesses.
