RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The Republican National Committee unveiled plans on Wednesday to proceed with certain convention activities in Charlotte, even though President Donald Trump will deliver his nomination acceptance speech somewhere else.
The move comes in response to growing concerns from Gov. Roy Cooper, D-N.C., that the full capacity convention Trump had requested is “very unlikely” to happen in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cooper wants the GOP to continue discussing a scaled-back convention, while Republicans are seeking assurances that more than 10 people will be allowed in a ROOM.

The RNC and city of Charlotte signed a contract that went into effect in July 2018. Both sides are working to make sure the other holds up their end of the bargain.

“Absent a breach of the contract by one of the parties, the expectation is that the parties will perform as scheduled under the contract," Baker said. "We would expect that since we haven’t breached the contract, and I’m not aware that any of the other parties have, that the RNC would fulfill their obligations under the contract.”

WTF? If it is not an outright breach it is certainly frustration of purpose, which is grounds to rescind the contract unless there is a contract clause to the contract.

True. And considering the extreme and violent wing of the D party has tipped their hand, the Spectrum Center is a TERRIBLE venue, with insufficient buffer space surrounding it, and a hostile Mayor and Governor.
We need a venue that will limit protesters to a well contained area, with security checking for potential weapons. One where any failure to be "peaceful" will only hurt their own. And a police force willing to crack some skulls if needed.
The GOP has played right along during this dark hour in American history. We seriously need more parties in this country. The 2 we have now are really the same.

Cooper is a total loser. He only became governor because of huge voter fraud.
Years ago he was the AG when the black exotic dancer accused the lacrosse team of raping her. Yuck. There was no evidence that anyone even went near her although there was evidence of 10+ DNA men in her.
Cooper refused to prosecute her. She went on to murder one of her boyfriends. Cooper is responsible for that death. Had he prosecuted her she might have gotten help and the man wouldn’t have died.
Years ago I had heard that you should be very careful driving from New York down south through North Carolina because they would pull you over and falsely accuse you of speeding if you had out of state plates.
The state is even worse now.
