The Big Lead ^ | Kyle Koster

Posted on 06/03/2020 11:06:28 AM PDT by JZelle

"I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country," Brees said. "Let me just tell you what I see, what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States. I envision my two grandfathers, who fought for this country during World War II -- one in the Army and one in the Marine Corps --

Texas democrat politicians used to be Pro America and Pro Texas. My grandfather, a WW 1 vet was a democrat judge until Johnson became president in the 60’s.

myself, having not much of a life apparently, spend my otherwise tv watching time on the computer...mostly watching you tube....there's this guy called "bald and bankrupt" and he is so funny and so entertaining....speaks russian well so he travels all of the old soviet union plus many other countries as well....

the point is....most of the world lives in absolute poverty....

we as AMericans don't know what we got.....

we should Thank God every single day that we are here.....

I remember reading about Graham when he coached the Redskins (oops, sorry Peter King and Mike Florio), the players would piss him off by calling him Toot.

I try to keep that in mind whenever I start getting annoyed at something stupid.

Last paragraph...

What country is he talking about that is so unkind to blacks.

Some people are more able to say anything they are thinking.

Isn’t it wonderful.

Michael Thomas - very good receiver, very little loyalty. He’s in the huddle, in the locker room with Brees every single day of his professional life...and none of that matters. He has just shown who/what he’s all about and it’s race. In my books, that makes him a racist.

Oh boy, his radical teammates are NOT going to like this. But Brees is a lock for the Hall of Fame and in likely his final year so I guess he just doesn’t care anymore.

Yeah, old “crab legs” Winston will replace him.

That wasn’t even Thomas saying that, it was the author. Freaking media instigator.

Heaven help them, Winston had 30 TDs and 30 picks last year. Before season’s end Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara will be taking a knee - to beg Brees to please take over.

“Layne was known to down a couple at halftime”

Art Donovan, Baltimore Colts defensive lineman, told the story about tackling Layne in the third quarter and asking him if he had been drinking during halftime. Layne replied “Hell yes and the way we’re playing I might start drinking before the game.”

Thanks for reminding me of that story. Artie Donovan was one of the funniest people I’ve ever heard.

Yep, when Art was on a talk show, it was Must See TV.

Artie was one of a kind who didn’t mince words. He was working class from the day he was born until the day he died.

“I guess telling stories is an art. I never looked at it that way. I just started talking, and everyone started laughing. So I kept talking, and they kept laughing.”
Art Donovan

You remember, I’m sure, the story he told one night on Johnny Carson about the time his team had to play on a field where the circus had been the previous day.

“Yah, dat’s right Johnny, da field wuz covered wid shit,” Artie said in that rich Brooklyn accent of his.

Significantly, the NBC censor didn’t bleep the word “shit.” This was a good call. Artie was just telling a story, not trying to shock.

“He don’t know no better,” Thomas wrote on his Twitter. “We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that

Can I get a translation here? My ghetto speak is a little rusty.

No, I never heard about the Carson show. That was just Artie being himself. No filter. One of the things I loved about him.

On Letterman once he told about being in the Marine Corps during WW2 and being caught with a case of spam he had “liberated” from the mess.
His punishment was to eat the entire case in 7 days. Art said he finished the case on the 5th day and never missed a scheduled meal.
He loved spam!
